Upon inspection of the condo after it was cleaned, we were extremely disappointed. Not only did they not do some of the tasks on their usual list (the window sills had bugs and cobwebs, and inside the microwave had dried food), but they also did not do some of the special tasks I requested, like wiping out the drawers and cabinets; I wiped out some of the cabinets myself, and my cloth was dirty, and some of the drawers were sprinkled with food crumbs. A bathroom drawer had several hairs in it. One of the toilet seats had dried black droplets on it; apparently dirty water had been dripped there and not cleaned. Most disappointing was that the living area hardwood floor was still very dirty, and we had scheduled movers to deliver our furniture the next morning.

I took photos documenting the dirt and called the owner to explain our dissatisfaction, and she promised to send the cleaners back first thing in the morning, but they arrived about a half hour late. As we walked through the house, both housecleaners were obviously unhappy, and the team leader actually argued with me as I pointed out areas that had not been cleaned! The team leader called the owner, who showed up; her attitude was again professional. I showed her the photos I had taken of dirty areas, and she assured us that the place would be cleaned appropriately. Meanwhile, we had to shift our movers to the afternoon.

A few days later, the owner called me to ask about my satisfaction. I explained that the housecleaners had cleaned the areas I pointed out, but that I found additional problem areas after they left; for example, there was still scattered dog food in the closet, so that floor had obviously not been cleaned at all. The owner offered to send the housecleaners back AGAIN, but I would not want those unhappy people back in my home.

Merry Maids has a satisfaction guarantee, which means that they will come back and re-clean, but they will not refund any money. So even though I did not get the professional cleaning I expected and I had to deal with the inconvenience of shifting our moving schedule as well as cleaning myself, the owner would not even discount the price. I would not recommend Merry Maids to anyone, and I will not use them again.

The Owner Carolyn Tiller did a walk through of the house the week prior to go over the services we required and gave us a quote. She also helped in the first cleaning along with 2 of her staff. They did a great job and we have scheduled them for recurrent cleanings.

It went very well! They are very trustworthy.
