 + -1 moreThe plumber Chad Simms returned my call to him on ;within 30 minutes and said he would be at my house in 1.5 hours. He was right on time. It took him 20 minutes to ID the problem and then about 45 minutes to fix the problem. He was on time, courteous, professional and his price was reasonable. He came with a helper and had all the parts he needed in his truck. He will be my plumber for all plumbing jobs hereafter. FYI - I got his name from a friend who had also used him to get water from his well after his water froze too. His work is guaranteed for one year.
Description of Work: Water froze in my water pipes during the night when the temperature got down to 7 degrees. The plumber, Mr. Simms, came out and unfroze the pipes leading from the well's pump to the pipes leading outside the well pump housing. Then he replaced the pipes and applied insulation to stop the problem for occurring in the future . The previous owner did not insulate the pump or the pipes from the well but instead had a light bulb installed in the housing. I guess her thinking was if she turned on the light during freezing temperature, the light from the bulb would keep the water from freezing. She had it installed so that she could turn on the light from the basement and light would go in in the well's pump housing outside the house.
