NEW BEGINNINGS

Rick painted the inside of our house before we moved in back in 2009 and did a decent job. He missed some areas but mostly it was good. We asked him back a year later to paint the trim on our house. The day before he was supposed to finish he did a few extra things(painted mailbox and door) and asked for a little more money. I made the mistake of leaving him a final check with the extra money. He left early and later I got a phone message from his wife saying their son was very ill and that Rick would return in a few days to finish. He never returned and all of the trim on the highest portions of the house were left undone. I called many times and left messages but he never called back. We thought he was such a nice guy-we were very disappointed.

I found Battlefield Painting on Craig's List.  Rick came over to my house when he said he was going to and gave me a very fair estimate for the work.  He had to reschedule the start time due to a death in the family but he arrived the next week on time and ready to work.  He was very easy to work with - even when we changed colors after he spent the day painting.  He only charged us for the paint and still finished the job on time. 

On September 12, 2006: Contract. Date to paint: Friday, September 22nd. New Beginnings called after the appointed time to paint had come and gone told us that Mr. Olive was ill and would do the job the following week. That week would come and go, too, without a call from New Beginnings. Then New Beginnings called and told us that Mr. Olive had a gallbladder problem. He promised to paint the house on September 30. Rescheduled for Monday, October 2. Rescheduled for October 3, 2006. Anniversary of death of child given as reasons. This was on October 4, 2006. Claimed not to have our address. I note that if New Beginnings does not have our address, I do not see how they could have appeared at any of the arranged-for dates to paint our house. On the October 13, demanded refund. October 17, still no refund. Never painted our house. Finally got a refund at the end of October.
