Fantastic Sams Culpeper

I've been going there since they opened up. I've had like five or six different stylists. I normally just use one but if she's not available, I'm not a very patient man when it comes to getting his haircut, so I just get it and go. All of them have been competent, friendly, and clean. The experience has been fantastic because when I first moved here I couldn't find a place that cut my hair any good. They wanted to charge $25 every time you sat down. I'm just a regular old guy and my hair at this age there ain't much left. All of the other places were quite expensive. I found this place. I've been going there since '06 or '07. I'm a no frills kind of guy. I go there and Angela is the stylist. I make an appointment. I walk in the door and she says, "Come on back." and I sit down and 15 minutes later, I'm walking out. I don't need a whole bunch of extras or anything like that, I just want my hair cut. She cuts it good. Whenever you comb it, it's all the same length and what not. There's nothing sticking out. Before, some of the other places around here, they'd want to charge you $25 for a man's haircut but yet it's not as good as this one girl does at this shop. I don't know if it's just this one girl. It can't be because I've used probably five stylists altogether. All of them have been acceptable as far as haircuts go. Nothing's really out of whack.

Had read review of this shop on Angies -- decided to give it a try. Stylist mentioned in review was not available; Julie cut my hair today. She was very pleasant, although I would suggest she introduce herself to new clients.
I had found a hair style in one of their hair books, showed it to her, and we discussed the possibilities to produce that result. Julie assured me she could do so and in fact, over the course of approx. 40 mins, she did with one exception -- one stiff, patch of hair on the side which made its appearance and stuck out after my hair dried.
Overall, the haircut was very good, I was pleased so I did not complain to anyone -- I will be more vigilant the next time I go there and will try the other stylists to determine their skills.

I got a very good haircut there and will be going back again. I would recommend Candace to anyone who is looking for a good looking haircut. She pays attention to details.

I walked in, and was warmly received. The stylists were well groomed,
the shop very clean and neat. They had an opening in a few minutes. I
asked for a book of styles to look over and their books and magazines
were full of up to date styles which were just what I was ready for even
though I'm 64.
There were several women clients who looked about like me, not exactly streamlined, but with nice hair cuts!
I wanted a shampoo and stylish hair cut/trim which I received.
I got a lovely young stylist named Candace who herself had a lovely hair
style and a pleasant, gentle manner. She was friendly to just the right
degree. We kept a conversation going about mutual interests the entire time.
I also made an appointment for one month in the future...but the stylist
suggested that the haircut might not need a trim until after that
Every aspect of my shampoo/trim was delightful!
I told Candace that I would definitely put their shop on Angie's list tonight. It's rare to find a Salon that meets all my standards.
I will definitely return and ask for Candace.
