They cut down the trees that we had hired them to cut, but they only hauled away about 3/4 of all the brush and logs. They did quite a bit of stump grinding but same as the hauling, about 1/4 of the stumps remain. They laid about a 100ft x 100 ft area of sod. The sod was beautiful, but it was a complete waste. they did not properly grade, they did not roll the sod, and they didn't make sure the sod edges were aligned properly so you can see about a 1 inch gap inbetween all the rolls of sod that are laid. The obviously had no idea what they were doing laying the sod. They left their equipment in our yard during the winter months and from having discussions with then we assumed they would be back to complete the job in the spring. Spring has come and gone and now it's June 2nd. David Middlebrook, the owner ignored our calls all spring or pacified us by saying he'd be out to our house then would never show up. Our yard is a mud pit because his crew tore up all the ground cover that had been there in preparation to sod the yard. I have no grass, except for a 100x100 foot section that needs to be re-done anyway and I'm out my money. Luckily we only paid him half of the $3800 for the grass. However we've gotten estimates on the remaining stump grinding and grading that would be necessary before sod could be installed for over $2,000. So at this rate I think he owes us $2000 + $1900 for work that he's not performed. We will liekly take him to small claims court to see if we can re-coup any of this money.
