On the first day the workers were early which is a good sign. They removed the old bath and walls and there's no way round it, this is a messy business. The guys did a good job and kept the dirt and dust down to a minimum. They picked up the new shower unit next day and installed it as detailed by the manufacurer.
They relaid the vinyl flooring and repaired the decor to original specifications and all in all did a good job. There were no subcontractors involved as all the trade skills are in the family.
The only small complaint is that the drainage was obviously done from above therefore the crawl space insulation was knocked out from between the joists and not replaced. The consequences of this are clear. I had to get in the crawl space and re-fit the insulation around the pipes.
