ADLER'S ART & FRAME

After more than a decade of very happy experiences with Adler s, involving thousands of dollars worth of outstanding custom framing, we have had to cease our relationship with them. Adler's recently suggested that we have them add a thin decorative strip, requiring meticulous application, to the edge of new mats for botanical prints. When we picked up the prints, one of the strips was slightly angled a judgment verified by an independent framer we consulted, who agreed that the eye went right to it. But when we asked Adler's if they could straighten this item, the owner exploded in a loud, emotional, and bizarre ten-minute tirade, in front of two young employees, in which she invoked the many hours of work spent on our project, insisted it could not be improved, belittled our concern, accused us of having unreasonable expectations, and claimed that we were incapable of appreciating the difficulties involved in a remedy that was her own employee s idea.
