We own a vacation home on the island and used him every year to do what he called "annual routine check up" for $75.00. And every year it was in need of freon so the bill was $125.00. We thought nothing of it for a decade because the entire homeowners association was doing the same. When I called him for a service issue and he was too busy to come out, I called another who did. They told me the reason for the freon consistent refill need. It was because the freon tank was leaking and needed to be replaced. Once replaced, the so called "annual routine check up" wasn't needed. I found out It was just a way to get one up on "Out of Staters" who own there and put their trust in him, and to guarantee himself annual income. I was also told he has a reputation to do this. He will never get my business again!

This is a small hvac shop on a small barrier island along the Virginia coast. He answered his own phone, had one customer before me, and arrived about 1-1/2 hours later. Spent about 45 minutes, presented me with the bill, I paid, and he left. Have an older a/c system. Extremely hot weather. Leak was too slow to detect. Just needed to add refrigerant. A/C has been working 100% since.
