Since 1992, Old Dominion Door Sales, Inc. has been a family-owned professional dealer of top quality garage doors, electric operators, and various components associated with the overhead door industry. Our commitment to our customers has been the cornerstone of our success, and with almost 11 years of doing business and thousands of satisfied customers in central Virginia, we have worked hard to build a solid reputation. In fact, the majority of our business still comes from referrals by our customers. We have had the privilege of serving two and three generations within the same families on many occasions through the years, and have strived to build this kind of trust. Every customer is important to us, and we want to be able to serve you not only today, but in the years ahead as well. To do that, we must make sure we get the job done right the first time. Total customer satisfaction is the only way to achieve our goals, so let me tell you a little about ourselves, and what we have to offer besides just a commitment to great service. Our professional installers are full-time employees, trained by us to maintain our high standards. We employ no subcontractors. We offer free estimates for all your garage door needs. We install garage doors in new construction, as well as replacement doors. Know what you’re getting for your money! Decided to replace both garage door motors. Reasonable price. Much quieter. Old Dominion showed up on time and work performed as promised. New motors are much better than our originals.

Everything went fine.  I met the company representative at the Home Show.  They called and scheduled an appointment for the following week.  The salesman was on time & wrote up an estimate on the spot.  After comparing their price to other companies ( and checking Angies List) I selected them.  Work was done 2 weeks later, all completed in about 6 hours, and everything cleaned up.  I was very pleased with everything.

Met a representative and the Richmond Home Show and was very impressed with the doors on display.  We set-up a time for the representative to visit and give a quote.  He was on time and very efficient, I gave him a deposit and doors arrived about ten days later.  It took less than a day to install and they look great.  I would use Old Dominion again.

My call to schedule replacement of our broken garage door spring was answered quickly and professionally and they were able to come out the next morning.  The scheduler gave me a small time range within which to expect their servicemen and told me they would call before coming.
The servicemen did call before coming and within the time promised.  The servicemen were cordially professional, thoroughly answered some questions I had, and were done in about 45 minutes.  In addition to replacing the spring, they lubricated all the moving parts on the garage door, cleaned up their work area, and gave me some advice on how to maintain the garage door to ease the lifting strain on its parts & motor.
We considered the cost of $250.00 to be very reasonable since their fee 11 years ago was $200.00 for the same service!
I will definitely call on them again for any garage door problems we experience and highly recommend them to others.

The field tech that did the work was professional, prompt, and knowledgeable; however, the initial call to the customer service rep. that answered the phone and scheduled the work was unprofessional.  Also, the customer service rep. evidently knew that the use of LED lamps in garage door openers prevented remote controls from working, but schedule a service call anyway according to the field tech.  The service call ended with the replacement of two 60-watt incandescent lamps for $95.00.

We called fairly early in the morning after discovering the exact problem with the door.  My husband's phone call was answered promptly.  He told them what he thought  the problem was.  The person answering the phone said she thought they could come over to do the repairs by mid-afternoon of that same day.  And they stuck to their word.  The young man who was planning to do the repair called shortly after lunchtime to give me an approximate time for his arrival.  He called back around 25 minutes later, saying he had been recalled to another job he had done earlier in the day; therefore, he asked permission to come within the next hour instead.  He arrived within the amended time.  He was courteous and very efficient.
The repair took just under an hour.  He had been able to locate the problem quickly, and it was resolved right away.   This young man did such a wonderful job, the door is the quietest it has ever been since we moved into this house several years ago.  It hums smoothly now!!!
We had an Angie's List coupon good for 10% off the cost of the job done.  It was honored.

Estimate was handled well. Discussed options on openers and choose one other than I originally wanted. Work was scheduled the next day. Their quote was slightly lower that competitors quote including additional work (second quote did not include moving old opener to other door). Work crew came an hour later than expected but jumped right to work. Removed old rails, moved old opener, installed new rails, doors and opener. Estimator came to job sight and immediately told them to move the glass sections to the 4th level instead of the 5th because they were installing it at the wrong height. They promptly corrected the work but dropped a glass section and it broke. They went to shop and got another glass section, cleaned up broken glass and finished the work about 2 PM as was estimated for completion.

No complaints.  I was impressed from start to finish.  Very responsive, courteous, and helpful -- in terms of helping me assess my options and make an informed decision -- on the phone and in person.   Scheduled me for a free home visit and estimate the next day, and got the job done the following business day.

No surprises, got the job done right.   Rewired existing garage door opener for no extra charge.   Pleasant, knowledgeable crew.

Problems started when the supplier ordered the wrong track for my garage ceiling height. The workers who dropped off the materials indicated they would order the correct tracking and schedule a new installation date. I followed up 2 weeks later because I hadn't heard from the company. The gentleman who answered (co-owner) told me he would find out what happened and would respond later that day. I had to call again the next day, and mentioned I had called the day prior. He (co-owner) said, "Well if I had additional information, I would have called you back." The interaction was in a down-ward spiral from that point on. Horrendous customer service -- ranked as worst ever in Richmond for me. And the quality was laughable. Nuts and bolts actually dropped on our cars about a month after installation. We kept picking up bolts from the floor, wondering where they were coming from. About the third time I found one, I looked up, grabbed a ladder, and realized the tracking was coming apart.

I have worked with Old Dominion for a few years now they are all very knowledgeable people and know exactly what to recommend. I had to call them out to fix a few wires that were accidentally ripped. When I called and told them what happened they were out next day to fix it.
