DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT HIRE JES CONSTRUCTION, LLC! After listening to four different companies our needs were narrowed down to two companies recommending the same work with comparable estimated costs. Prior to making our final selection two of our four neighbors on the cul de sac tried hard to convince us not to go with JES Construction LLC. Since our job was so different from theirs, and a variety of other reasons, we chose JES to do the job. We now know why they were so adamant. Out of three homes, two have unresolved issues and one has since given up -- 1x crawlspace encapsulation; 1x structural piers, and ours ?Polymer Fill beneath the garage floor (completed) and Carbon Armor wall-strapping (incomplete). On 6 August 2016, we met with a JES representative and signed an $8435.00 contract for two jobs ? Polymer Fill beneath the settling garage floor and Carbon Armor strapping for the resulting slight tilt of the affiliated basement wall. We paid the required down payment of $1687.00 and within six days scheduled the Poly-fill and Carbon Armor jobs for 16 and 22 September 2016 respectively. Since that time pretty much nothing has occurred as stated and/or scheduled. Having kept a log of events from the start, some examples of JES poor job management, poor communication, and poor customer service include ? ? the very first Carbon Armor appointment required rescheduling due to JES not having obtained the necessary permits; ? the rescheduled Carbon Armor job was left incomplete due to JES not having the necessary equipment on hand or expertise to access all required strapping areas, which were known to JES in advance ? to date a 3? x 2? hole remains in a hallway wall; ? being notified on the day of a scheduled appointment of JES personnel?s non-availability to inspect the questioned areas of the Poly-fill job; ? JES personnel calling on a scheduled date to arrive late; ? not receiving promised update calls and only obtaining any status of the uncompleted Carbon Armor job via another JES employee who agreed to call the call the home office to inquire while on property; ? the failed first scheduled inspection of the Carbon Armor job by the JES subcontracted third party certified inspectors due to JES not meeting their own engineering requirements; ? receipt of phone and email requests for final payments for non-completed jobs (three times); ? JES personnel arriving and waiting on premise for unscheduled appointments? notified by voicemail upon arrival home from work, and a second time after having notified JES that no one would be available during a defined period of time(out of country); ? after specifically stating that we would no longer coordinate with the current JES scheduler we were directed to another individual who would contact us only to find several weeks later, when we finally contacted him, that he was supposedly not aware of any issues; ? the second failed inspection of the Carbon Armor job due to no changes from the original noted issues ? no communication from JES to the inspector to discuss the possible acceptance of the current job, only a request to re-inspect; no JES employee had ever returned to the property to make any corrections since first failure. On 6 February we were forced to cancel and reschedule our hoped for last appointment of 8 February due to work considerations. During that call we asked for and were informed that the individual we were previously directed to work through, and had, was no longer employed by the company, but either the replacement employee or General Manager would return the call. Until the receipt of the latest (third) final payment request for a non-completed job on 07 & 08 March, the only communication received from JES was from the General Manager (whom we believe to be an individual we have spoken to in the past but were unaware of their position)responding to our ?no monies forthcoming in accordance with the contract? email offering 25 March as a possible completion date. Once again due to on-going work schedules we were unable to confirm anything at that point in time. On 24 March JES called to verify yet another unscheduled appointment. On 29 March an email with an attached letter explaining our discontent with JES was sent to numerous management level JES employees, the third party inspector and JES salesman. The salesman responded within 30 minutes stating that he was unaware of any issues besides those mentioned in the phone messages we had left over the previous months ? failed inspections, our unavailable dates, show ups for unscheduled appointments, etc. His response claimed that he would immediately contact upper management that day and ensure the project was resolved. No other responses were received. On 7 April we sent a follow up email to all the same individuals noting that another week has passed since the salesman's response and there had still been no further communication. It wasn?t until 11 April that we receive a follow up email from the salesman claiming to have just spoken to the office and that we would receive a call from them that day. Today is 21 April ? we have heard nothing further from anyone. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT HIRE JES CONSTRUCTION LLC! Our rating of D vice F is due to the employees doing the actual labor on the Poly-fill job. We were very pleased and impressed with Steve Garrett on his two required trips. Steve is informative, pleasant and professional - an excellent representative of any company. We would have no hesitancy in recommending Steve, not JES, for a Poly-fill job. As of 21 April, the Carbon Armor work is still incomplete, failed inspection notices remain taped to the front door, the workroom is a mess, a large hole continues to adorn the stairwell wall, and we have heard from no one. We repeat ???? DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! DO NOT HIRE JES CONSTRUCTION LLC!
Description of Work: a) PolyLevel System for garage floor. High density polyurethane used to raise the concrete garage slab back to original position. Accomplished by drilling small holes in the slab, and using specially designed equipment to inject a structural grade polymer into the void. Once filled, the expanding properties of the polyurethane allows for the lift and leveling of the slab. Holes are grouted and sealed. Job has been completed. b) CarbonArmor Wall Reinforcing System with ArmorLock System for basement wall. Designed to reinforce and stabilize basement walls. Consists of Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (FRP), reported to be 10 times stronger than steel and specifically designed for basement walls. Flexible design allows the strap to contour tight against the foundation wall, installed from inside home using a high-strength epoxy resin . Straps can be concealed with paint or drywall and does not compromise living space. After two failed inspections and just short of six months, job still not completed.
