First, let me explain how I found Incredible HVAC.
Immediately after purchasing my home I found out that my upstairs unit was not working (see my review on Burgess Inspections...I was not happy that was missed). Luckily, the home was under a home warranty, so they forced me to use AmeriCool. After the first visit, AmeriCool tried to hit me with nearly $300 in 'fees' for things the warranty did not cover. After contacting Incredible HVAC, I found out they were all bogus and AmeriCool agreed to drop them (see my review on AmeriCool for more details on that incident).
Fast forward a few years, and my downstairs unit froze up. I contacted Incredible HVAC since I remember his good deed from before and Mike showed up promptly the following Monday. Fantastic communication!
As expected, I had a small leak. Mike charged up the system and got me running, but took the time to explain my situation and all my options. He wasn't trying to get me to do anything drastic, and told me things that would probably be fine (like the furnace) and what would likely need to be replaced (the coils).
As far as price, his service fee is $75, and he charges $75/hr. Those are very reasonable, and he was here a little over an hour and charged me for just 1 hour. He charges $75/lb for R-22 on top of the labor charges. While that's steep given that an EPA-certified person can buy a 30 pound canister for about $300 from TheRefrigerantGuys (Amazon), which makes it a 7.5x markup, it does seem to be the going rate.
All in all, I was very satisfied with Mike's punctuality, professionalism, and service. And he's got the coolest work truck out there!
