About us
Based out of Chesapeake, Temperature Control Heating & Air Conditioning opened its doors in 1987 in the South Hampton Roads area. Two retired Navy submariners own the company. When your system requires a tune-up or replacement, you will have one of our two owners come to your home. They provide estimates and work with the customer to find the best system that fits your home and budget. Our company policy is to always treat others like we would want to be treated, so with every interaction, we put ourselves in our customer’s shoes. Our technicians are NATE certified, and have the expertise to get things done right the first time. Temperature Control Heating & Air Conditioning is a Trane Comfort Specialist™ dealer. That means that we are committed to ongoing training for our employees, while always providing excellent customer service. Our technicians are also certified to install and repair Mitsubishi mini-ductless systems and tankless water systems.

George, one of the co-owner’s, was wonderful to work with. I couldn’t say enough nice things about this gentleman. The technicians who worked on the installation did a good cleanup job after they did a good installation. It didn’t take very long. They were very on time.

The original call to Temperature Control involved smelling gas and Mr. Fordyce came promptly. He thoroughly checked all gas appliances and even crawled under the house to eliminate any gas leaks there. He diagnosed the pot-belly stove as the culprit with a leaky valve. We knew the valve was unavailable from the original manufacturer and had no problem with waiting while Temperature Control located what we needed. Additionally, Mr. Fordyce located a damaged duct under the house on his first visit that was fixed immediately. When the part was found we were scheduled right away to install it. We are pleased with the service from Temperature Control we've received for many years and plan to continue to call them!

As a property manager, it is important to have reliable, affordable, and (above all) QUALITY service providers to work with. Temperature Control is by far the best! They are always quick to respond to an emergency, we consistently get great feedback from tenants about the technicians and repairs, we use them for all of our HVAC needs and water heater replacements. I recommend them to all of our owners.

They were outstanding. They had good reviews and didn’t disappoint. Josh did an excellent job. They provide good service, and the owner, George, came and inspected the system after the installation was finished. I would certainly call them again.

I’ve used them several times before for a blown capacitor on a heat pump and they replaced my downstairs system and I find their prices to be reasonable. Earlier this year they responded to a service call on a Sunday. They’re conveniently located to my home. The tech was professional and showed up in a timely manner and answered any questions I had . The repair has been holding up and I’ve had no additional issues all summer. He cautioned me that the unit may need additional service in the future. They do a very good job.

Our Trane all in one HVAC died and we Found Temp control on Trane site as an authorized service provider for trane systems. Owner, George, called with answers to a lengthy questionnaire we had (because we had dealt with some other HVAC contractors that did not give us a "warm fuzzy" before calling Temp control and our builder cut some corners too) and then came out himself to speak with us and perform a load test on the house.
All happened in a matter of days & during an early heat wave that had them swamped with service calls already. George came back with results of load test and options for us within 48 hours of his first visit with us. He shared insight into the new types of freon, systems, split units, etc with us and was very personable as well.
He informed us that they were informed by Trane that the extended warranty program was changing and trane was going with a 3rd party company. This new extended warranty would cover less and require more out of pocket to the customer than the current extended warranty. I researched the extended warranty change over independently and verified that all that George was telling us was spot on. We had to have the system installed prior to the cut off date for the current extended warranty change over - We literally had about 2 weeks before the change over was to take place - yikes!!!
They were able to get us in and had everything done in one day and 2 days before the extended warranty change over date.
George came out himself with the technicians the day of install. The techs were professional, cleaned up after their work. communicated well, and were knowledgeable.
The system is working well and we know that if anything happens in the next 15 years, we are covered & temp control will be there to help us.
Office staff was great as well ......... friendly, prompt and knowledgeable.
Highly recommended ............ only company on the trane site with 100% positive customer feedback & now I know why. Need more companies out there like this one!

Temperature Control is the tops in the industry because they are honest and fair. What they tell you is the truth. They do not make up unnecessary repairs like other companies do. Their pricing is fair and worth every penny. I am in the real estate and property management industry, managing dozens of houses. Many of the homes I manage have home warranties on them. This means I must use the HVAC contractor the warranty company assigns, often resulting in misdiagnosed problems, no show appointments, dishonest reports and the need for repeated call backs. I have had Temperature Control come in after other HVAC companies for a second opinion and found out that the recommended expensive repair was in fact a small inexpensive repair. When I use Temperature Control, they show up when they say they will, they are honest and get the diagnosis and repair right the first time.

The work was completed on time and the crew was tops professionally. I reserved my judgement to ensure no problems cropped up. Heating and AC work perfectly. I have used Temperature Control as my primary Heating and Cooling specialist for over 30 years. When it came time for a complete new system, 12 years ago they beat everyone's price by at least $900.00. They service it anually and I have had no problems.

Excellent experience. The servicemen arrived on time. They quickly inspected the 2 systems. When a part was needed, they were able to go to a supplier in the area and get it; then returned to repair the unit.

Temperature Control did a good job with the installation. I actually had a lower estimate for this job, but I went with this company because I had used them for 11 years. I found them to be very honest and trusting. We had black mold and they sealed all of our old vents with foam to stop it from spreading.
