Ben from R.A. Styron arrived shortly after I made the phone call. He explained the possibilities over the phone before arriving, and told me the fees for these two possibilities. After he arrived, he quickly identified the problem being the drain line. He took a photo on his cell phone and showed it to me. He then cleaned the condenser coil and blew out the drain line. He also made recommendations about how to prevent similar issues from happening again, and how to cover up the stains on the ceiling. Fast service and very professional. Will surely use his help again.

Technician was punctual and professional. He diagnosed the problem as a freon leak, but could not pinpoint the location(s) for the leak. He found leakage at valve, however he couldn't be sure if that was the only leak. The tech wanted to schedule a full system leak check, however he would not tell how much it would cost or how long it would take. He was very vague, and said it could take "several hours or less than a single hour". He didn't give me a cost estimate, but indicated it could be "several hundred dollars just to find the leak". I wasn't comfortable with the ambiguity and elected not to have any additional work done. I contacted the OEM installer, who subsequently found the leak in minutes and repaired it. It took less than hour to isolate the leak and make the repair.

"Sir, thank you for your honest review. Leak searches can sometimes take hours and others turn out to be only minutes depending on the location of the leak as well as the type of system. That being said we are often still able to give exact pricing on performing a leak search. I have looked in our system to find your service call so that I can speak to the technician to ensure that he understands that process fully and was unable to pull any information up. While we love good reviews we would hate to take credit for a job done by another company. Could you please call into the office (757-420-5488) to get this straightened out."

It was a good experience. The only thing I didn't like was that a couple of weeks later it stopped working. I guess a switch or something had been triggered. I called them, and they came back, and ended up charging more money even though it was a five minute job. They charged a fee to go back out there even though it was nothing.
I haven't had any issue since they came back out. I think it will take a couple of months to see how good the product is.

We take extreme pride in our work and hate to see that any of our customer's are having any kind of problems after repairs are made. Ninety day warranties are almost always given with any type of repair made so I wanted to take a look at the history before responding to this review. Seven months passed between the time of the repair and the return service call so unfortunately the repair was no longer under warranty. I would also like to add that the repairs we made last year wouldn't have contributed to the switch failure 7 months later; if our technician did not fully explain that to you, we apologize. Such a respectful, hard working, earnest worker. A rare gem and anyone is lucky to land on this wonderful company. Do not hesitate to call him. I'd trust him in my mother's home ho has dementia, to do the right thing, and treat her fairly too. That's no joke. The guys showed up ahead of schedule and cleared the drain line fast and efficiently. The price seemed to fit with the work done and time spent at my home. They even cleaned out the tub that the water backed up in after they were done, totally expected!

from the beginning, the owner's son, Kyle, was quick to return my voicemail - which was after hours. I explained that my unit had stopped working and since i was still running on oil heat, i would like to convert to central a/c and heat since i needed to replace the unit anyway. he explained that a technician would need to come out to see what the problem was and if a replacement unit would be necessary. he did not seem bothered AT ALL that i had called so late. i honestly just thought i would leave a VM and hear back the next day. i received a call from Ralph the following day explaining he was going to be in my area that day and asked if i was available for him to stop by for an inspection and estimate. i was, so he showed up, as stated, within 3-4 hours. he ran some tests inside and outside and verified my suspicion that my unit was kapoot. he explained that a complete overhaul of pipes and vents and returns and everything else involved was a bigger job than most in order to convert from oil to central heat. they would need to remove the heating unit on the inside of the house as well as the oil tank in the backyard, which could either be buried or removed - i chose removal. he was very detailed and kept the technical talk to a level i could understand. he wrote everything down for me along with the estimated costs - breaking down costs for the extra work involved for the conversion. he told me if i agreed to the estimate, he could have his technicians over the next day to begin the project. Price was agreed upon, and just like he said, two very friendly technicians showed up the next day, full of smiles, and began to work. they actually cleaned up as they worked, making sure not to leave any drywall dust on my floor. the conversion took two days total. they were very informative during the whole process - giving me comfort that they were knowledgeable about their jobs and equipment....not something you see these days in the "who will do the work for the least amount of money" days. they explained every step and seemed very comfortable in doing so. i offered them water, snacks, lunch - they kindly declined all but the water. they would walk me outside and explain why they did things inside and how it affected things outside. why keeping a cpl feet open on all four sides of the unit would keep the unit working properly for a longer period of time. it was really nice to be involved in the process. they were very interactive, which is also something you don't see much these days. they really cared (even if i didn't) about making sure i knew how everything worked. it was like they were old friends over to tinker on my old car. i really don't think i can think of one negative thing about the experience. even when i had to call back a few weeks later because the unit stopped working, they were right out there and with a chuckle explained that i hadn't cleaned the filter like they said was necessary for optimum performance once a month (i have the metal one that needs to be cleaned - not replaced). no charge for coming back out EVEN THOUGH IT WAS MY OVERSIGHT!! who does that????? i would recommend them to ANYONE and i absolutely have! anyone and everyone who mentions needing service or replacements, i point them in their direction. as long as they're in business, they'll have me as a customer!
