We were without AC for nine days because the two different AC contractors assigned to us by our home warranty company failed to appear.   I insisted that the third company assigned to us be "Angie's List approved."    On one of the hottest days so far this year, Keith Thompson and Sons saved the day! 
The service was extraordinary!   Monday afternoon Nicole scheduled an appointment for Wednesday morning, with the promise to move us onto the fast track if there were any cancellations.  Three hours  later, she called with the glorious news that a technician was on the way! 
The technician, Jeff . was excellent.   He quickly diagnosed the problems and made the necessary repairs.   Keith Thompson and Sons is now our preferred AC contractor.

These guys are awesome!! Initially, the blower in my attic died, so we called some other company to come over and replace the transformer in it. They charged us $400 for just that part, not including the $100 for the service call. They were nice enough, however, to install a new thermostat I'd also bought and didn't have a clue how to put in. They examined my A/C and heat pump unit's circuit board and found it to be faulty, so they recommended I consider buying a new unit. Then they went on their merry way.
Then I found Keith Thompson and Sons. I called them for a consultation on a new unit and they came over right away (great first impression) for FREE. They checked out my system, found out that the other guys had installed my thermostat improperly, and they also told me that the other guys completely screwed up the diagnosis of my A/C and heat pump - it worked just fine. They flipped a couple wires around and re-did the setup, and blammo, it was working beautifully. So, so far, free thermostat installation (mind you I already owned the thermostat) and they fixed my outdoor unit (minor job, so they did it gratis) absolutely free, just on a consultation alone! But they did tell me that both my blower and outdoor unit were installed in 1995, which means they probably won't hold up for too many more years, and they definitely aren't efficient by today's new standards. They quoted me at about $4200 for a new Trane unit, new blower, and dampers in the attic, and they did not pressure me to buy at all. The service tech AND the operations manager were both quick to give me both their own personal cell phone numbers and the office number and urged me to call back any time I ever had a problem. I knew immediately these were the guys I wanted. So, I bought the units we talked about. A week later, they had them installed in one day, and I could not ask for a better setup. Down the road, I want to have the dampers they installed replaced with electronic dampers so I don't have to change them manually, and I will surely be calling these guys to have them put in.
These fine folks are going to do very well themselves. What a great company.

In January we had a pipe burst in the attic of a home over our garage. After Service Master of the Southside did more damage to our home then the water and called in a sleezy HVAC company (Billy Lewis HVAC Services, Inc.) I decided to get a 2nd opinion. I was lucky enough to get Mike Thompson to come out. He checked both my HVAC systems and deemed them in working order. At that time he gave me a quote to replace the venting which had been soaked in water. When we decided to go ahead 2 months later and get the work done - he was prompt - professional - and answered each question I had. Even though it took him more materials and time then he had originally thought - he did the job for the exact price he quoted! He also informed me of a program they have for all-electric heating units that gets the homeowner a rebate from Dominion if you put your units under a maintenance contract with his company. We are putting all 4 of our units under maintenance and are thrilled with every detail of the work done by this company. Would recommend them 100%.
