J W Hill Roofing

First off the owner (son) spoke to me in a condescending tone.  The first time it rained the skylight leaked so they had to come out and fix it. Turns out they had forgot to do the flashing, which caused my newly painted living room ceiling to have water stains. I had waited until the roof was replace before I had the ceiling painted and when  I told the owner about it he refused to pay the  $189 to repaint the area. I have cathedral ceilings so it wasn't an easy touch up.  5 years later the roof is leaking and you can see, on inspection ,that the ridge vent was not installed correctly.  I have been trying to get them on the phone but to no avail.

J.W  Hill installed a new roof with a 7 year warranty of which I made full payment. The service was terrible. The roof is now extremely defective since they came to install it.  There are now multiple leaks that have occurred over a long period. J.W. Hill has not serviced these leaks or repairs ever. This company has not responded to multiple phone calls, texts, or emails ever. I have had expert roofers inspect the product and the entire roof is defective.  I would not recommend this company to others who are in search of a good roofer.

Delivery of materials and work start was right on time. The job was supposed to be a one-day job and ended up taking two (not surprised given the amount of work involved).  The roof looks great, but the clean-up was sloppy and only after repeated calls over a three-month period did I receive my warrenty information. The work is good, but the customer service could use some improvement.

Efficient, courteous, locally owned. 2 days to complete residential job in Forest Lakes community in Chesapeake. Final price almost exactly that quoted (paid a few more dollars for extra plywood). Did a good job cleaning up!

We liked them, they were a nice crew. The work ended up taking longer than we thought though. Their price was high, but I felt more comfortable with their sales person. They were also really bad at returning calls though and I would not use them again in the future.

They showed up on time and seemed to be pretty efficient. The roof has been on for a few months and I haven't experienced any problems. My only complaint would be that the company has not sent me my warranty, even after I had called a few times for the owner to mail it out to me. This would be my only complaint. Other than this issue, they have done a very good job on their work and I would consider using them again in the future.

They were very polite and friendly. They worked hard on my roof for two days straight. They got the old roof off, and cleaned up really nice. I don't know the kind of materials they used, but the roof was charcoal in color. I was happy with all their work and that really mattered to me.

They worked hard, and it took them four days to complete our roof. They cleaned up everything really good. They stuck to their original estimate they gave me. I would have to say that they did a really good job overall.

They were a father son team and I dealt directly with the owner. They never asked for a penny up front. They gave us a 5-6 year guarantee. They did an excellent job on our roof. They cleaned up daily and were very tidy which I really liked. I thought that they were a bit costly but well worth it.

The results of the roof were very positive, and they left me with a good feeling about what I had them do. They were a totally professional crew that worked hard enough to get everything done in good timing. I didn t have to watch them constantly and didn t have to do any work myself. They took care of it all very well.
