Don's Roofing

Dons roofing seemed a bit overpriced by about 20% for the repair work performed. The work seemed to be well done from the limited visual vantage point of the ground. The inside ceiling painting was well done too with drop cloths throughout the room and painters tape used where needed. But the main concern that I had throughout this project was the rather poor customer communication.

I contacted Donâ s roofing and they came out the same day to look at our roof. We appreciated the fact that the contractor actually took a look at the problem area and suggested options to fix it. Other companies either tried to quote us for a new roof or for replacing more than what was needed. The work was done the same week that we contacted them. It hasnâ t rained yet to really test the new section of roof, but it looks like it was done well!

We had a tree branch (log) fall and punch a hole in the garage roof. Don came out and had his team here the day after the estimate. They had the roof fixed in a couple hours. No leaks since!

Pricey for the job. During the scoping of the job they pointed out two more things that needed repair to negotiate a higher price and they did not fix those items. I guess they thought I would not be able to see they did not do that work from the ground. They also whined and tried to increase the price for minor issues related to the work already being performed after starting the work. Customer-focused companies power through minor issues.

Very overpriced. Timely response and good work. I was told the roof leak I had was extremely difficult and work intensive. Was quoted $1800 and agreed on $1500. Roofer and young assistant arrived at 12:24 PM and finished at 2:58 PM. I was expecting a much more difficult job. They put down less than one square of shingles and some underlayment fixing one 6 foot edge and part of one valley. So allowing for $100 for the inspection and price quote, $100 for materials, and $100 to pick up the materials, that leaves $1200 for 2 1/2 hrs of labor by one roofer and his young assistant. That is almost $500 an hour labor alone for one skilled roofer and young assistant. Would have expected around $600 to $700 at most total for a repair taking one square.
