The project was estimated at taking 3-4 weeks to complete.  It ended up taking double that time due to the contractor ignorance with Norfolk's code for construction and inspection.  The city inspectors stated he didn't follow their process of getting the work inspected at certain points and then some of the work that was done wasn't up to code so it had to be redone. Their was very poor communication on the work being done and who would be coming everyday. They showed up whenever each day if they even came, no consistency.   There were shortcuts taken with the den to bedroom conversion that were very sloppy such as building new walls on top of the existing carpet instead of from the concrete, and not cutting baseboards away so the new wall is flush against the current wall.  It was a very bad experience.

Carpentry repairs were excellent.  House prep work was limited and caused some extra work.  Painting was done and some areas had peeling problem.  The problem did cause extra work for the crew, but they did come back without hessitation and repaired the problem areas.
