They sent a technician to my home promptly, and he was pleasant and professional. Unfortunately, he was not competent. He told me that the manufacturer of this door performed their own repairs, and advised me to contact them directly. He also advised me to proceed no further in my attempts to repair it myself. He made no attempts to determine the nature of the problem, and departed after charging me for the service call.
I called the company he instructed, who was the wrong manufacturer. After reaching a dead end in this route, I continued to attempt the repair myself, and recognized that the door was just stuck. After making some adjustments and lubricating the mechanism, the door now works fine.
In my opinion, I paid a service charge for a locksmith to come to my house, but the person they sent was unqualified. The problem was solved and repaired by doing exactly the opposite of what he recommended. I felt that the service charge should have been refunded, so I called to speak with a manager. It took multiple (8?) phone calls over the course of two days to eventually have a manager speak with me. They repeatedly put me off, saying the manager was "busy"..."unavailable"...would call me back in two hours, 30 minutes, et cetera... I think my tenacity eventually wore them down, and when I spoke with the manager, he said that he would have to talk with the owner to get authorization to give a refund, and that he would call me back.
He never did.
