Brandon came out and took a look at what I wanted done. I had 4 medium sized trees (10 - 18" diameter, 25 - 50' tall) in my back yard that I wanted gone. I have a tiny back yard and all 4 trees were either within mere feet of my house, or a neighbor's fence. The possibility for property damage (mine and neighbors) was a serious concern of mine. Brandon provided me with a verbal quote for removing the 4 trees, stump grinding all 4, and also grinding the 2 stumps left behind by the previous guy who I had hired and didn't complete the job. I requested a written quote and proof of insurance and had both documents in my inbox before the end of the same day.
It took almost a month to get my project on the schedule due to other projects ahead of mine, but I felt like Brandon did a great job of checking in with me periodically in the meantime and letting me know what was going on. They day of the job Brandon and his crew showed up at about 5:00 PM. They got to work immediately and had a guy in the top of one tree within 10 minutes of arrival. They laid out large sheets of plywood and heavy rubber mats on my yard to prevent any damage from falling limbs/logs or from the tires of the front-end loader (it has big, soft turf tires anyway, so it wouldn't have hurt the grass). In about 2 hours he and his crew had all 4 trees down, all the limbs fed into the chipper, and the logs on the street for collection. They cleaned up and knocked off for the evening. The crew was back at about 8:00 the next morning to grind all the stumps and do a final clean-up.
In the meantime I had asked Brandon if he could have his guys chainsaw down about 9 or 10 holly bushes in my front beds that had gotten to be about 6 feet tall and needed to go. He had his guys cut them down and throw them in the chipper for no additional cost. Talk about great customer service!!
The ground the stumps, cleaned up the mess and where there uses to be trees are just patches of smooth, flat dirt. Like nothing was ever there. Just the way I wanted it. The next day a truck came by and collected all the logs from the curb and hauled them away - including one that had been sitting there for 2 months from the first jackwagon I hired.

Called for estimate and had representative come that day; we had planned to get two estimates but was satisfied with the estimate and the professionalism of the individual so we did not pursue additional estimate(s).
After the bad weather cleared, we received a call setting up the time and day for the work. Team arrived exactly at 0730 as promised.
Work was done safely--it was clear on the large cuts that the team leader stopped to ensure all understood what was going to happen and positioned all team members. Team wore safety gear (glasses, hearing protection, hard hats) as warranted.
The limb removal over the roof went well. The large tree was brought down without damage/impact to surrounding landscape.
The team cleaned up the debris and collected the wood chips. Work was completed in a few hours.
I was concerned that our tree was leaning over too far to be cut down by a climber, but felt that the soggy ground, fencing, and close spacing between houses would create real problems for a bucket truck. Brandon and his climber Chris assured us that the tree was stable enough and they were able to take care of both this tree and the big maple branch the same day. Chris and his crew were very professional and they brought the tree down in large sections that landed precisely on the one available spot in the backyard between our deck and two other trees. All of the oak tree sections and the large maple branch were cut into smaller pieces and carried to the curb using a front-end loader, where they were picked up the following morning.
My one and only complaint is that several runs between the curb and backyard were made using the Swinger before they noticed the tires were chewing up our yard, at which point they laid plywood sheets down to prevent further damage. I accept part of the blame for this because the path from the street to our backyard is along the swale between ours and the neighbor's yard, which tends to be soggy even without hurricane-levels of rain. I meant to remind the crew to put plywood down right from the start, but my wife and I were so absorbed in watching them surgically disassemble our tree that I totally forgot to mention the plywood. I put down a few bags of top soil and some extra grass seed when I did my fall reseeding, so the ruts are completely gone now.
I would definitely recommend Brandon's Tree Service to others and would use them again myself without hesitation. In fact, I have two more trees in the backyard that need to come down and I already plan on having Brandon come back in the next few weeks to take care of those and grind the stumps.
