It was awesome.  He came in early, got right to work, explained and demonstrated what he was doing so I could learn too.  He was thorough, professional and obviously experienced. Once he got the old mortar out, he put in the new, then let parts dry a little while he worked on the next area.  It took him almost all day, but he never stopped his work.  When he was done, he came back and put the marks in to smooth the mortar, then left and came back a week later to brush / pressure wash each area.  It was perfect.

I would recommend him to anyone that needs masonry work, and will use him again if the need arises.

Removal of old brick and installation of new bricks for new doorbell installation.

Mr Bowman is very nice to deal with. He was able to complete the work while I was away from the house. He had to cut out the old mortar joints and replace with new . After the mortar cures for a while he will return and clean off the brick .

Mr. Bowman was very professional, prompt, curteous and did an outstanding job on both the repair!!! He went above and beyond, and I have had many compliments on his work!!

Jim Bowman responded immediately after we called him. He came out right away and gave us a verbal price while he was here. We agreed and he came back within a few days to start our job. One of the things that impressed me is that Jim arrived early each day and worked a full day, not stopping for breaks or to talk. I just haven't seen this kind of work ethic in a while. It was really like he wasn't even here unless I went out to speak to him. All I can say about his work is and quot;WOW!and quot;. Our masonary was a mess and Jim repaired everything so much better that what we thought could be done and in a very timely fashion. He left his work areas clean each day and spotless when the job was over. If you are looking for an old school quality job, you will love what Jim Bowman does.I think he may be partly retired now, but if you can get him, you'll be very pleased with his quality, price, neatness and timeliness of job completion.

The work, which took about four hours, involved cutting away the old mortar and replacing it with new mortar using special tools. Cutting away old mortar creates clouds and clouds of dust, but Jim used a blower to move most of it way from the steps. Once it rained, all of the dust was washed away. There were some chunks of old mortar left from the removal process, but I think I got a good price for the work performed,
