Big Rob's Gas Fireplace Service

Great job! He always provides great service.

After finding Rob on Angie's list, I called to see if he could fix our fireplace. I gave him the symptoms and told him another company had tried, but without success, saying they had to order a part and never returned. We set up an appointment window of time and he said he would call ahead. Rob called and arrived within the agreed time window and went right to work. He removed his shoes, spread out clothes to keep things clean. The fireplace, had been installed in the house when built in 1992 and had not worked in a while. After disassembling and inspecting the fireplace gas valves and safety devices, Rob diagnosed the problem as loose connections on the thermocouple assembly, and a miss wired connection that caused the gas valve to close. He rewired one connection that had been tampered with, cleaned and remade the remainder electrical connections. Once he was satisfied that all was fixed, he assembled the fireplace, including the glass front, which I had cleaned. He spent about an hour and half total. I my opinion, he is an expert with gas fireplaces. He stated he did not charge by the hour, but by the service. I considered his charge for this repair to be more than fair. In fact, I had paid almost as much for the earlier service call, not did not fix anything.

When Rob arrived he introduced himself. He asked what problems we had with fireplace as we had fire alarms sound that's when we shut  fire place off. we had cleaned fire box and fire alarms came on again. Rob cleaned fire box & artificial logs. checked burner. He started the fireplace to see how fire came on. Rob adjusted the pilot until burner came on properly. Rob installed the artificial logs. the burner was restarted and let burn to make sure everything worked properly with no fire alarms sounding. We are very satisfied with his work and knowledge and Personalilty

Rob is a great guy. He's a one man show so it may be hard to get hold of him but he returns calls promptly. He arrived when he said he would and called to let me know he was on his way. I completely cleaned my fireplace and made adjustments to the pilot light switch as it wasn't working properly. He's very knowledgeable and professional. He even removed his shoes when he came it. As I'm going to be renting my property I will be using him again for service.

Exceeded expectations. Big Rob restored our fireplace to better than new condition. He took the time to thoroughly clean it and inspect it for functionality and safety while guiding us through its features and basic use/maintenance. Very personable and professional and reasonably priced. Big Rob is now permanently stored in the iPhone as the only "Fireplace Service" contact.

Rob was exceptionally responsive. I had several different plumbers/handy men look at my gas fireplace and none were able to repair it. I called Rob and he came out the same day (not peak season) and repaired my fireplace. From initial call to completion it was no more than 3 hours. Not only did he fix my problem he was very professional and courteous explaining to me each problem or issue. I have to say this has been one of my best service call experiences ever.

Courteous, quick, most helpful. Whenever I need gas work in this house I'll call him back (and we expect to be here for the next 20 or more years if we don't die first).

I would have to say that Big Rob has the demeanor and personality of a professional that puts you at ease.  It's obvious he's extremely knowledgable and has been providing his service for some time.  I'm very satisfied with his work and will definately contact him for all future gas fireplace maintenance.

Overall, Big Rob does a great job, but as of late, he doesn't return calls. And as of today, his mailbox on his phone is full. I have tried to schedule a service appointment with him the past few months, but to no avail. I have now scheduled an appointment with a different company. His responsiveness and professionalism are poor for not returning calls. If there is a personal reason, I could understand, but that message should be on his voicemail.

He did a great job! He explained everything well and cleaned it up very nice. I will use him again every year.
