After Hours Heating & Cooling

I’ve used After Hours Heating and Air-conditioning 3 times now. All 3 times were actual separate issues. I am very please with this Company!! Starting with Connie in the Office. Who treats you like friend and like she really cares. Morad who has been my Technician for all 3 times. He is very Professional, respectful, nice, and knowledgeable. He always explains things and never tries to rip you off. He is very honest and that goes a long way! Plus he walks you through everything to double check and makes sure everything is working correctly before he leaves. Today I had a pleasure of meeting his helper Byren. He was very respectful, nice and a hard worker. He went above and beyond when he noticed I had a water leak coming from my portable A/C. I was using that until they got here. He not only pointing it out but offered to help clean it up for me. Just, So that no one gets the wrong impression... I have a very old unit! So each visit was for separate issues. They ALWAYS fixed it right the first time! I would 100% recommend them to anyone! Honest, Professional, Courteous, and extremely knowledgeable..

After going through our home warranty company SEVEN TIMES to fix our AC, we made the call to After Hours Heating and Cooling. Brian and his assistant (sorry, can't remember) were here within the hour and fixed it within 30 minutes. They were super knowledgeable, professional and friendly. I'm cancelling my home warranty and sticking with them for my future HVAC needs.

Called company in the morning, and they were out on the same day. Brian troubleshot and diagnosed the problem within a few minutes after arriving. Replaced a main relay and unit worked perfectly thereafter. Brian was very personable and charged a fair price. Would hire again!

I'm loyal to this company for their honesty and professionalism. After just moving into my house I had a problem with my Air Conditioner( It was running but couldn't keep the house cool). I had a home warranty but the mechanic the warranty company sent out was either incompetent and/or unprofessional. This ac technician missed 3 appointments without calling me( 2 of these missed appointments were on the weekend so this interfered with my weekend plans). He never fixed the ac.I would avoid the home warranty company I had(Select Home Warranty) and the AC technician's company(HCEC Group LLC,). The next company I contacted to diagnose the problem with my AC told me I had a freon leak and needed to replace my system. They recharged my unit with freon twice( I found out later this was a lie) for $150. I then called multiple contractors for quotes on replacing my system. In 2016 After Hours gave me the lowest estimate. When I told them I didn't really want to replace the ac unless I had to they took the initiative to diagnose my unit. There wasn't a freon leak, the unit had a clog that was restricting the airflow. After about an hour of work After Hours fixed the ac and it has been working fine since then. They could have replaced an ac that didn't need replacing and made more money. This company has integrity and I have the utmost respect for them and they will be the only company I'll ever have to service my HVAC unit or replace it.

I found After Hours Heating & Cooling on Angie's list and selected Brian (owner) to repair my a/c unit. He does not advertise on TV or radio and doesn't offer silly advertisements but, if you find him, you will be a customer for life like me! I am not related to Brian nor have I never met him before today. The other reviews are completely accurate about Brian. His service is outstanding. His prices are fair. He cares about his customers. He has a tireless work ethic. He is a man of faith. Here is my story. I decided to contact Brian for a second quote after another company quoted me a price of $1,600 for parts and labor to replace my inside evaporator coil of my Lennox a/c system. I called Connie (Office Manager) this morning and she assured me Brian would come to my home today! When Brian showed up at my house, he was polite, put booties on inside my home, and explained the service costs up front for my approval prior to troubleshooting the issue with my a/c. Here is the bottom line so read this closely. BRIAN COMPLETED THE A/C REPAIR; HOWEVER, THE ISSUE WAS NOT A LEAKING EVAPORATOR COIL THAT THE OTHER COMPANY QUOTED ME BECAUSE BRIAN FOUND A LEAK IN THE OUTSIDE LINE! BRIAN SAVED ME $1,100 AND FIXED THE REAL PROBLEM WHILE THE OTHER COMPANY TRIED TO RIP ME OFF EVEN THOUGH THE OTHER COMPANY CLAIMS TO BE THE OLDEST OPERATING HVAC COMPANY IN HAMPTON ROADS! I AM SO THANKFUL THAT I HAVE CHOSEN AFTER HOURS HEATING & COOLING LLC FOR ALL OF MY FUTURE HEATING AND COOLING SERVICES! YOU SHOULD TRY THEM TOO BECAUSE YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

It went exceptionally well. Connie set up a time for us to meet with the owner Brian. He arrived as planned. He was very thorough with his inspection of the current system and suggestions for a HVAC replacement. He reviewed in detail what needed to be done and took plently of time to answer any questions. He even topped off the refrigerant in our old system at no charge to get us through a couple of more days until his crew could do the work. Eric and John came to do the installation and Brian stopped by to make sure all was going well. Everyone from this company is professional, polite and very knowledgeable. Eric and John were awesome! Brian even came back after the work was done to inspect everything and make sure we were happy. They take no money up front until the work is completed and the customer is satisfied. First time using this company and I couldn't be more pleased. They are an honest, nice, and very hardworking group of folks! Will be calling them for regular maintenance service and referring them to my friends. They installed a Rudd 2 ton A/C compressor with new pad, all new refrigerant lines, new Rudd furnace with filter rack and re-strapped the A/C condenser drain line for the correct pitch and flow. Repairman friendly and professional. He explained the problem and how to fix it. The necessary part was available in his truck and problem quickly resolved. No drama. No fuss.

I called After Hours Heating & Cooling for an estimate to replace my heat pump. It was scheduled quickly. Brian arrived early on the scheduled day. He provided an estimate for what I needed that was very reasonable compared to other estimates. He didn't try to up sell me on equipment he felt unnecessary and explained why. I had a few requests, including equipment with an additional feature, which he adjusted to accommodate. I also needed one area of duct work. The install was scheduled a few days later. The installers arrived on time. They were courteous and professional and completed the install within the scheduled time frame. I was impressed with the quality of workmanship and attention to detail. The work site was left clean. The heat pump has been installed for over a month and I have had no issues or need for a return call. It is a great improvement over the old unit. I highly recommend After Hours Heating & Cooling.

I called mid afternoon, and Brian was able to stop by my house less than 2 hours later. He fixed the problem and we warmed right up! If I could rate him an A+, I would.

I purchased a Diagnostic Service Call from Angie’s List for After Hours Heating & Cooling. It was very easy to schedule the service call. Brian came out and diagnosed the problem right away. This was the second HVAC contractor to come out and (unbeknownst to Brian at the time) After Hours Heating & Cooling backed up what the first HVAC contractor found – that my upstairs A/C system was leaking coolant. Since the old system was installed in 2004 it contained the old R22 refrigerant. Both contractors explained the cost associated with trying to repair and replace the old R22 system and provided quotes for a new A/C system. I chose to go with After Hours Heating & Cooling because their quote was HALF the cost of the ‘other guys’. Not the exact equipment, but similar enough for my needs. We scheduled the install of the new equipment and everything was installed in one day, including removal and disposal of the old system I was very pleased with the service and professionalism provided by Brian with After Hours Heating & Cooling.

Great experience. Brian showed up on short notice to provide an extremely competitive estimate with no BS like the larger companies. Unit was installed a couple weeks later in about a day with no major issues. Brian even came by a few weeks later to adjust the fan speed on the air handler because it was too loud. Would definitely hire again.

The initial phone call nice because she was able to accommodate my schedule. The technician (Brian) was very personable and knowledgeable. He explained what was wrong with my system in a way that I could understand and explained how he was going to fix it. He installed new parts and explained when I would need seasonal maintenance again when I asked about it. The price was what I had in mind to pay. This is an awesome company!

Turned out to be a bad capacitor, which they offered to replace for a very good price, but since I have replaced my capacitor before, I knew it was a quick and easy job. Picked up the new capacitor and I installed in in about 15 minutes. Problem solved.

I have been dealing with them for years. He is excellent. If I didn't have a home warranty, I would certainly use them again.

They are honest and reputable. The price was very agree able.

The technician, which I could barely understand and did not speak very good English, told me that my A/C unit had a Freon/refrigerant leak. I was told that the leak must be small since not much Freon was missing (2.5 pounds). The technician refilled the Freon and left. I paid $50 service call fee and $75 for the Freon. Then 2 weeks later I had the same problem, I guess it was a bigger leak than he thought. So, I called again and they sent the same guy back out. They didn't charge me for the service call, however, I was told that it would be another $70 to find the leak which they should have done in the first place in my opinion. He used a device to try and find the leak and then stated that he couldn't find where it was and just stood there like I was supposed to be ok with this answer. I then asked what the next steps were or if I should call a different company since he apparently could not figure it out. He then called the owner (Brian) for guidance and he told him to put a die in with the Freon to try and find the leak that way instead. He then had to leave and buy the die and come back. When he came back he put the die in and got it EVERYWHERE! He got it all over the outside A/C untis and all over the outside of MY HOUSE and fence! I didn't realize this until after he left so I then called the company back and the dispatcher had the owner call me back. Instead of being apologetic, he asked how big the die spots were on my house. I told him that there were a decent size, but does it really matter when there is a bright neon yellow die on the outside of your house? Brian then came back the next day and tried his best to get the die off of the house. He was able to get the majority of it off but, there is still a hint of the die that you can see. I was very unsatisfied with the service that I received. Maybe it would have gone better if Brian (the owner) came out to fix it instead. It seems like all of the positive reviews are because of the work he personally did. This seems like a very small company, but I believe that they need to train their new technicians better. When the Freon leaks out again I will be calling a different company to come and fix it. I didn't feel comfortable with the technician that I received and that he was properly trained to do any actual repair work.

Brian was the service tech. and he was very thorough which is exactly what I wanted. The customer service person was also very helpful. Though it was the first time I used them I plan to use them going forward. I've had mixed luck with other companies. Usually when the owner comes out the service is great and subsequent service falls as staff pick up the work. After Hours has a small group of service people so I'm hopeful for the future work.

I had gotten some estimates from some other people and they were definitely a lot cheaper. They were able to get it done over the weekend. I would definitely use them again. There was two people who came to perform the service. They left the area clean.

Awesome! They had an appointment available the first Saturday after I placed an order for service on Angie's List, so I did not have to take off work or suffer with no AC even longer. Technician showed up right on time, diagnosed the problem, and fixed it quickly. Could not be happier!

Instead of trying to sale me a new system he serviced it and it works well.
