I used this company for a local move. I am retired Navy and have been moved many times. This company was by far the WORST SO CALL MOVERS I have ever used. The owner of the company has a great BS story of what he will do but he can not be trusted. When you meet this guy, you have met the king of BS. His movers are just kids off the street with no experience by their own omission. His so called ?A? rating with the BBB is false. He has no rating with the BBB because of unresolved claims. Don?t bother filing a damage claim against him he will just keep putting you off until you give up. I have been trying for over a year to collect. He will give you a high estimate for the move and then offer to reduce the cost to give you a break. If you read a good review about this company don?t forget anyone can write a review including the company. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SO CALLED MOVING COMPANY.
The movers have had little or no training in moving fine furniture. Oriental rugs were wadded up instead of rolled; the lateral file cabinet was moved in filed with files and upside down. We had numerous legs broken off furniture and damage to antique tables and lamps.
We were promised the move would take place in one day and after two days they failed to showup again to complete work. We were promised that all furniture (beds, desk, china cabinet) would be reassembled by them; one bed was put together but unfortunately the worker failed to used the bolts to stablize it. Had we gotten into the bed as originally reassembled, we would have been badly hurt as well as damage to the antique bed would have been considerable. My son worked with the mover (1 man while the other two slept in the truck) for 2 hours to put the bed together. As we unpacked boxes that they had packed, we found such situations as a sugar bowl full of sugar, unwrapped and turned upside down in the box allowing sugar to spill throughout the contents. The clothes they had packed were dumped into a box by drawer, a sheet of paper put over and then the next box was dumped. We found pieces that went together (i.e. TVs, remotes, power plugs) scattered throughout boxes with no relationship or organization. We had to move most of the fragile items that had not already been moved in my van to protect them and because the movers said they felt uncomfortable putting them on the truck.
We were told a large truck would move us in one trip (our move was only 15 miles); a very small truck arrived the morning of the move and required numerous trips back and forth. The second day, a larger truck was sent - still not large enough - and serveral more trips had to be made. The second day of the move the owner (after numerous phone calls to insist) came by to see the damage and listen to our complaints. Without addressing his men or letting us know, he left 15 mins. after arrival. The next day he called demanding the rest of his money. When we told him we were going to hold back $800 - $1000 until we completed repairs, he started screaming at my son over the phone and threatened to "come over and take it." We had to inform him that if he did, we would have to call the police. When we tried to address the service issues with him, he refused to discuss them and just kept demanding his money. After he threatened our son on the phone, we were frigthened by what he might do and took extra safety precautions that night. We cancelled the credit card which we had used to make the initial deposit because we were afraid he would try to run the balance due through on it without our approval.in
The horror stories are too numerous to repeat them all, but, in our opinion, sufice it to say, "Don't go near this company!"
