They provided a free estimate, came on time and did an excellent job of avoiding surrounding greenery. The workmen were professional, knew just what they were doing and they performed the work in a professional and safe manner.

We have been using them for tree service. They are reliable, they are very professional. They come when they say they are going to come. They give a very professional estimate. They clean up after themselves. All the crew that I have dealt with are very nice, very respectful of your property. There is not enough good things to say about them. They do Thomas Jefferson Montecello tree work, so that should tell you something right there.

I have to say that there are hardly words to describe what they did!  What impressive skills they have, including working with the equipment including a crane positioned 50 or so feet from the base of the tree! 
The climber?s ability to work in the tree once everything was in place was extraordinary!  He was raised by the crane cable up over the top of the tree and lowered down into the tree to attach and cut selected sections to be lowered to the ground. We couldn?t stop watching!
They cleaned up & removed all the branches and leaves.  My son had asked them to leave the bigger pieces on the ground to be cut for firewood, and then discovered that the young man working on the ground  had already cut the sections into firewood lengths.  All three, including crane operator were very gracious, competent, professional, and had lots of interesting answers to our questions!

We found van Yahres' work tested by one foot of really wet snow a couple days after they worked on our trees and the trees near the house did not duffer any heavy damage (although there were a lot of branches down all over our yard and the area).
Over the years, we have gone through a microburst that snapped trunks like mere matches, and other extreme weather occurrences, and our trees have fared very well compared to a lot of our neighbors. I'm beginning to believe that the van Yahres folks really understand how to make trees strong!
So, that's top quality work, and we don't hesitate to pay what it's worth, even if cheaper alternatives do exist. In addition, the van Yahres crews are extremely professional and will take the time to discuss the work and various options, tree by tree. We are delighted to be able to rely on them to maintain the 20+ large trees in our yard.

They are excellent. The person that does the estimate makes an appointment and is always on time and spends a lot of time with me. The people that actually do the work are very professional. I think their price is fair although I haven't compared their price with others. I would definitely continue to use them in the future.
