Trebor Home Inspections
About us
My name is Robert Foster. As a full time home inspector with over 32 years of experience working on clients' homes, including an architectural degree, I bring an extensive knowledge base with me to your home inspection. As a buyer, you want a home inspector who will thoroughly examine the home's primary systems in order to discover anything that should be corrected prior to your purchase. My reports are easy to read with color coded comments, pictures and meaningful recommendations you can trust.
Services we offer
I perform Home inspections and Radon Testing. I am certified with both the International Association of Certified Home Inspectors and The State of Virginia. I am also certified with the National Radon Proficiency Program and use Continuous Radon Monitors that provide certified results that I upload with the inspection report.

Highly recommended!
Robert was very easy to work with from the get go. He even helped work with the realtor to make sure all the needed utilities were on, etc. He showed up on time and spent several hours with us going meticulously through the house from top to bottom and fully explaining his findings as he went along. We learned alot about our new house and got some great suggestions on how to improve on things or keep up with necessary maintenance. The report was easy to understand and read.
The inspection uncovered a subtle problem with water in the basement that we had not noticed previously. We are going to have some gutter work done immediately upon closing to address this. Overall, the findings in the inspection helped negotiate our purchase down $10K after the sellers reviewed the report. Totally worth it! Recommend highly.
The online inspection report he provided has been useful, not only in negotiating the price of the home, but even now as we begin to fix it up to move it. As two people who are totally ignorant on home repair issues, Robert explained in detail why problems he found mattered and how they can be fixed. Multiple times, we have referred back to the inspection report as we make our checklists and budgets for what needs to be done on the house.
The only thing that was negative about the experience is something that I think is inherent in all home inspections. I left the inspection feeling much less in love with the home then when we first decided to buy it. In fact, I was downright depressed. But I had to remember, it's Robert's job to be critical, not to highlight the good things about the home you're purchasing.
We feel Robert went beyond what was required of a home inspector and have already recommended him to others.
