I contacted Rivanna Hearing Aids via their website contact form.
Bill Murphy, owner and operator, called me back within 36 hours apologizing for not responding within 24 hours.
I had asked if Tricare insurance would cover a hearing aid.
He said to come in and get, for free, their Audiogram Hearing Test, and take that to VA...noting the VA issues vets the highest end hearing aid worth about $6,800.I went in and took the hearing test.
He directly told me that my hearing loss, at higher frequencies, was far better than most of his patients and that VA would likely not do anything for me.
I asked if he could do something.
He said it would be unethical to do so. Yes, he could sell me an $8,000 device that might slightly improve my hearing in crowded rooms...but just barely. I would be unlikely to be noticeable, so he refused to offer it!!!!!
