 + -1 moreI have been going to Dr. Post and the Northridge practice for over 20 years. I completely trust her judgement. I appreciate the way she treats me as a partner in my own care. She is on top of new developments in medicine and ready to recommend lifestyle changes that would impact my medical status. I have also seen all the the doctors in the practice over the years. When an unexpected urgent appointment is needed, if your own doctor is unavailable, you can see one of the other Northridge Internal Medicine physicians. They are uniformly excellent. An added benefit is the use of EPIC, the online medical record, and My Chart. Communication is easy, either by phone or by email through My Chart. Having all the resources of UVA to back them up gives the Northridge physicians access to the full range of specialists for referrals.. I have greatly appreciated Dr. Post's referrals when needed.
Description of Work: Annual physical with Dr. Barbara Post. What a great doctor! She listens attentively, answers questions thoughtfully and in detail, provides expert information, and great medical care.

 + -1 moreThe doctor was very approachable, amenable to answering all kinds of questions, and not patronizing at all. I like this in a doctor, I'm not just looking to fix whatever problem is bothering me, I also want to understand it and understand how to avoid potential health problems in future. The doctors at Northridge seem up-to-date in their medical knowledge, spent time talking about lifestyle choices, exercise options, etc, and were happy to suggest referrals for any questions they thought I could use more information on. I found the office environment to be comfortable, and all of the staff extremely friendly. The only issue I had was that my insurer changed my account number at one point, and it took several phone calls and incorrect bills to get that straightened out in the billing office. But I think this was primarily the fault of the insurer, who should have sent clearer information, and in the end, it was all solved to everyone's satisfaction, so I will definitely go back.

 + -1 moreI have seen my doctor in this practice since 2006 (Dr. Susan Laurie). She has provided first rate care, as have the other doctors I've seen in the practice when I've needed an appointment fast and Dr. Laurie has not been available. The care from each doctor I've seen has been excellent, and I'm very picky. The physicians are very forthright about what's going on and respect my questions and comments. When possible I prefer to see doctors who are affiliated with teaching hospitals because they stay current with the research. Since Northridge is a UVA facility, I'm pretty sure that the doctors in all practices in the building are UVA docs.
Description of Work: I got a same-day appointment to evaluate a tick bite. The doctor examined the bite, said it didn't show signs of Lyme's infection and told me to keep an eye on it and let her know if it changed for the worse.

Description of Work: I went in for an injury to my pinky finger from playing basketball. I have see him many times for physicals, my wife uses him for her needs, and I love his service. He is meticulous and he makes great use of technology. He always has his laptop on him and he wants to use technology to improve your experience with him. He is a really nice person and he really understands the need to be a great person for customer service. He will also call you back personally from his house at night to tell you test results. He is not afraid to tell you what you are afraid to hear. With my pinky, I was unsure if it was broken or not. I just wanted to play basketball the following weekend, and he let me know this was your finger and you need to rest the injury for a few weeks. I have had other discussions about health care and he has a great view on how doctors should help bring down health care costs. He does not order unnecessary tests. The bottom line is he has great bedside manner, uses technology to help people, and tries to keep health care costs down.
