Meade Construction LLC

In my experience, Tracey Meade was rude, offensive, insulting and hard to deal with in any professional way. She demanded to be the contact person for all issues, yet was defensive and curt with every answer to any questions we had. There were mistakes on the job that had to be corrected (windows where doors should be, wrong flooring installed, wrong calculation of price of patio, etc.) however, when these issues were pointed out, we were literally told, "what do you expect? This is affordable housing" OMG, it was mid-price housing at the time. We were paying clients! We had to fight with them about everything - Ex.: missing light in pantry. I had to provide them with written proof it was on the building list before they would put a raw light bulb socket in. Detail work was bad. Light switches and temp guages were installed in the middle of the walls. They refused to move them because "they were still within code". The house has been fairly structurally sound. Typical settling issues: cracks in paint everywhere, molding separation. When asked to replace multiple warped doors within the first 6 mos, it was left to the discretion of their "foreman"... therefore, no. He didn't think they were bad enough for replacement (because it would cost them money), so there was no recourse. There was a water leak in bathroom ceiling after 8-9 years. Found out they installed the pipe and cap to the fan vent UPSIDE DOWN so all water from rain and storms came IN instead of out for years! It was a horrible building experience. I would NEVER recommend them to anyone interested in building or remodeling a home. I hoped they would go out of business before now.

My wife and I had been searching for a home in Central Virginia for months. Our realtor put us in touch with Barry Meade of Meade Construction LLC who had homes for sale that were all under contract. Seeing his quality work first hand made us decide to have Barry and his team build our home in Troy VA. The idea of building a home seemed like more work than we could handle, but it turned out to be a very smooth process! Crystal, who works Barry's office, was mainly our point of contact throughout the biuld. She paid attention to detail and has all of our options ready for us. When something wasn't right, she was always very quick to resolve the issue, and we had the same response from Barry himself. I would recommend this company to anyone looking for remodeling, repair, or new construction. Barry estimated As of 01/07/2015 that the build would be complete by 05/28/2015. Despite the rough winter months he was right on schedule at time of closing. A+ Experience.

Barry and Tracy were wonderful to work with and the addition blends beautifully with our existing house. Unlike some of the other contractors we asked for estimates, Barry always got back to us promptly. Barry checked on the job site frequently during the construction and if anything was not to his or my husbands liking, he had it redone. The job started and finished on time (not that we cared as we were in no hurry). The price was competitive, and the workmanship was excellent. Overall, we highly recommend Meade Construction.
