The improvement in the touch and the sound was remarkable. Now I not only have a better piano, but thanks to his careful explanations, I have a better understanding of how the action works and what kinds of adjustments can be made to it.

John has been my tuner and technician for more than twenty years.  He is a very skilled professional, and always arrives on time, does a wonderful job, and makes sure that I am happy before he leaves.  I have recommended him many times to many people and will continue to do so.  

John returned my call promptly and was available to come out to our house within the week. He arrived on time and was knowledgeable and pleasant. Not only did John take special care when tuning the piano, but he tightened up some loose pieces inside, as well. I was very pleased with John's service and will certainly call him again when it's time for the next tuning!

I would absolutely recommend John. He did an excellent job. His communication was prompt and informative, he was punctual, and my piano sounds perfect. I played for almost two hours after he left without realizing it! Will definitely be using him again in the future.

If you want a high performance tuner, it's John.  The work he did cost a little more than we expected but he put us right where we needed to be and found some parts for our piano that helped us to get a up and playing.

John is highly knowledgeable, not only as a piano tuner, but also with
the workings of older pianos and their repair.   He showed up promptly after my initial call to him and got
right down to work.  John was able to correct
the action, key alignments and various structural factors to make the
piano play really well.  In addition, he had to tune the piano several
times to get it to remain in tune.  John found out that the Knabe baby
grand was from 1916 (we knew it was old) and he took the time and care
to ensure it was stabilized for future playing and tunings.  I would recommend him highly.

Excellent job!   He took the time to explain the reason I continued having a sour note despite numerous tunings.  He cleaned it so that it looks better than it has looked in years.   And the sound following his tuning is fantastic!   Great work!  I highly recommend him.

John Clopton arrived promptly as arranged.  And, he did not solely rely on an electronic tuner, but with an expert ear,  and his quiet and confident manner, used his piano tuning tools and innate  skills to make our spinet sound far richer than it ever has.  When he finished, he even went out to his car, got a tool, and tightened up the legs on the piano bench.  There is certainly no question but that he is a pro!  We will never use anyone else!  Thanks, Angie's List.

Polite, prompt and efficient service. Will definitely use again.

He is amazing!  Not only is John full of words of wisdom, he is pleasant and
charming and knows pianos inside and out.  He spent alot of time looking
at the piano and tuning it.  It sounds great now.  I don't remember the
price but it was under $200, not cheap but well worth it.   I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.
John noted my piano was missing an old hinge and vowed to find one to fit.  I
forgot about it.  Weeks later he called and said he would bring it by
same day.  He filed it to fit and did not charge me. 
Talk about old fashioned customer service.  He is truly a craftsman just like his card indicates.  You just don't get service like this anymore. 

I joined Angie's List and typed in "piano tuning".  Mr. Clopton was one of the two reviews listed.  After reading his reviews, I decided to contact him.  He emailed me promptly, and we set up a time.  He worked around my odd working hours.  He came within a few days of my contacting him. 
The piano is old, but he did a great job with it.  It was so nice to hear him play it when he finished tuning.  I am very happy to have it tuned for the holidays.  He's a very nice  man and is easy to talk to.  I really would recommend him to anyone.  His prices are reasonable too.

John was prompt in arrival and did the work requested....tuned the piano. Additionally, he was prepared with historical information about the company that made the piano and gave an estimate of the year it was made. It was good to get that additional information. He also gave cleaning tips. Overall, I was very pleased with his work.
