We always have received great service and value from the folks at Jenkins. We have been bringing our autos to them for over 15 years. They provide accurate estimates and have never exceeded the estimate they provided. On the few times we have had to bring something back, they were courteous and corrected the issue with no extra charge. They are absolutely the best Automotive Service provider we have dealt with in Charlottesville.

They look like they are just a tire shop because of the big Goodyear sign on their roof. However, I've been taking my car to them for about 10 years now for oil service, tires, batteries, etc. They may not be able to do complicated engine repairs, but they can easily handle the run of the mill problems, basic services and state inspections. They are honest, friendly, competent and reasonably priced.

DO NOT take your car here. I went in for basic maintenance and they screwed it all up. I went for oil change and tire rotation. I go to pick my car up 4 hours later because they can not do an oil change/tire rotation without you leaving your car there. SAD, Anyway, when I pick up my car the door is partially open draining my battery. Not a good start. Once home I discover they did not even rotate my tires. NOW I have an oil leak in my garage that just happened after my service there. I have NEVER had an oil leak in this car. Do not go to this shady place.

They were courteous, attentive, and were able to put the car on the lift immediately, even though I was a walk-in. It did take over an hour for them to give me their opinion. The shop is a little hard to get to from Rt. 29N. The waiting room has lots of seating though it's a little shabby. There was a coffee machine but no coffee to sip while you watched the TV. Every employee that passed near me had a smile and a friendly word. I would have liked to have a written estimate and asked; but somehow I never got one. The restroom was clean and stocked, and was adequately handicapped equipped. Overall, I would choose Jenkins over the other comparable estimate. BUT only if the FOURTH opinion matches their's!

I had originally taken my car to a dealer to get an alignment because the car wandered back and forth and was hard to control on curves. And because the dealer offered a free state inspection with any service. The dealer refused to give my car a "pass" on the inspection because they said I had damage to the suspension requiring over a $1000 to repair, and they couldn't do an alignment.
I wanted a second opinion so I took it to Jenkins the next day. They got me in and repaired it while I waited. They said my suspension was fine and they did a 4 wheel alignment for less than the dealer would have charged for that alone. Now the Corolla is driving fine. I feel like I dodged a bullet, and really appreciate that they didn't try to "up-sell" me the way the dealer did.

They are just very punctual. They are honest about how long it will take to complete the service. If my husband or I go, we get pretty much the same service. They always seemed to rotate the tires for free and I know that's not always the standard service. I think they are very honest and trustworthy people.

Their pricing is fair. They have been able to service my car same-day two times. I like they are able to get me in when I needed the work done. They have good customer service; I didn't feel like I was just another number. I have a 1998 Tahoe. They have replaced my starter and manifold intake gaskets.
