Fred Hean completed a project for us that had three esentially different aspects: He added some cabinets in our kitchen which required matching the existing cabinets in detail; he built in some bookshelves, cabinets and a desk in a bedroom that we converted to a library; and he built us a new piece of (discontinued) dining room furniture to match two existing pieces. This work required a great deal of skill, especially the part where it was important to match existing work. We are absolutely delighted with the outcome and have often spoken of how lucky we were to find someone who could carry this off. During the planning phase and throughout the project, Fred listened very carefully to us and made certain that the work would be done to our satisfaction. He worked steadily on the project but emphasized quality over speed. I do not imagine that there are very many craftsmen that could have come up to the standard that he set and I'm quite certain that no one could have done better. If you value top quality work you cannot go wrong by consulting Fred about your cabinetry or furniture needs.

Hean Cabinetry came in and solved the problem. He did the work for a great price, in a great amount of time, and he did it right. Fred at Hean Cabinetry knows his trade very well, he shows up when he said he is going to show up, and he does what he says he is going to do. He was so good and so professional I have called him afterward for consultation about my project.

He is an excellent craftsman, an excellent worker, highly skilled, and very good at working with customers. He is very smart and a precise craftsman. I would recommend him highly to anybody.

Fred Hean was awesome to work with. He measured at least 8-9 times, so’ very meticulous. I got what I paid for. I wanted to have something done but he explained to me why it wouldn’t be a good idea, so that shows great ethic. His work is beautiful and I’d highly recommend him to others. Everything that he’s built still works great.

It's been a great experience overall! Fred is an amazing carpenter. He’s bright, honest, careful, and very efficient. Even though he charges quite a bit per hour, he does great work. He communicates very well and keeps you updated on the project.

I chose Fred Hean because I had seen some of his built-in cabinetry at a friends house, and the work was clearly of high quality. I first emailed my design sketches to Fred to look over and we then met in person. His feedback on my design showed that he had thoughtfully considered the design and identified a few potential problem areas that I had overlooked. This feedback was one of the things that particularly impressed me about Fred Hean because it spoke volumes about his experience as a carpenter, anticipating problems before they could occur. The design was adjusted to avoid these potential problems, and we agreed to work on an hourly basis (Fred gave me the option of a flat price or an hourly rate). I received the finished mountings within the time-frame that we had agreed upon. The finished mountings were precisely made, worked exactly as I had hoped, and had a wonderful even finish that I was proud to hang in a public art gallery.
