 + 0 moreI would recommend anyone in Charlottesville looking for a gym to strongly consider Gold's. Especially if you need childcare while you work out!
Description of Work: I have been a member for several years and I have always enjoyed the facilities and sense of community. In the last year I have started using the Childcare Services there and have been so happy with their service! The staff really does a great job both with the Kidsersize and the regular babysitting. My daughter looks forward to going every week!

 + -1 moregym was well equipped and variety of fitness programs provided. Pricing was purposely confusing so difficult for comparison and wasn't discussed unless you appeared in person.

 + -1 moreI was with Golds in MD. For the money, It is a fair gym. The classes are adequate for what I pay. Gym has female workout room, modern machines. They have you pay a fee each year for new equiptment and we do this money being spent. I like that I can go to any Golds gym in the US as I go to NOVA to visit parents. That was a seller for me. I switched to a $20/month plan during a promotion which was worth it because I have gone to a gym for 20 years and planned to stay at Golds for a while. It doesn't have a hot tub or spa but it meets my needs.
Description of Work: Went to the Gym on this date. I am here to evaluate the gym. Everytime I approched them about membership services, there was someone on staff to help. They were very helpful.

Description of Work: I began working out at Gold's in another city. I moved to Charlottesville and became a member. BIG mistake. The staff was rude and there were numerous billing issues that I was basically told to take a hike when I complained. I then tried to cancel my membership and it took three months.

Description of Work: Gym had pretty much all you needed except for pool, which was available at HOTEL down the street, ugh. Price was a bit much and not consistent. Worst part was after I cancelled: 11 months later I began to get charges again on my credit card and management would NOT respond to my questions or concerns. In the process now of filing credit claims just to get apprx 6 charges removed!

 + -1 moreThe 2 year membership contract ended on August 1, 2011. The membership from that point went from a month to month situation. We wrote a letter that membership should be cancelled after August 1. The cancellation did not occur until September 2nd. It is stated in the contract that they must receive the cancellation notice 30 days prior to cancelling. I spoke with two individuals who were not able to tell me about the situation. The general manager finally had the envelope that the letter was sent in which was postmarked after the date needed to cancel the month to month membership. I had to pay for the month of August and September. Therefore I have finally made my last payment to Gold's Gym and I successfully cancelled my membership.
Description of Work: I and my wife joined Gold's Gym in 2009 with a contract for 2 years. This contract allowed us gym membership including access to all facilities and classes.
