The Geek Squad wanted full payment before the work was started with no guarantee that the work would be completed successfully or on time. 

In fact I was required to sign an order that read, "I have received and am satisfied with the goods and services in the amount shown above and I agree to pay for this in accordance with my existing credit card agreement.

All other service providers in the area bill after the service is completed.

The laptop with the crushed screen had to be sent out for repair, but it was back in less than two weeks and Best Buy called and sent an email to let us know it was ready for pickup.
The laptop with the viruses and just wouldn't work was ready within a week. All smudgy fingerprints from kids were gone. The lap top works good as new!
We were not charged a penny for either service.

I ended up just calling Best Buy for the computer repair service. I was in a hurry. They did a great job. They were courteous, professional and really helpful. They came the next day. They were right on time.

It went great.  The installers were friendly and very open to answering my questions.  They installed everything and then taught me how to use what they installed.  Looks great and works great, too.

Last year I paid $200 for a one-year membership in the Geek Squad's Tech Service, which allowed me to join a chat with a technician through my computer. I signed in and was immediately connected with a technician, who took over my computers (two desktops) and quickly solved my problems. As a bonus, the technician offered to do a complete tune-up on both of the computers. The technician was highly competent, friendly, and eager to see that I was completely satisfied with my experience, which I certainly was. I highly recommend the Geek Squad's tech service membership for ease of access to very good 24/7 computer service either by phone, online, or in the store.

I'd been told by an online computer service that I had a defective RAM chip.  
Took it to  Best Buy, whre an extremely knowledgeable guy ran a lengthy scan while I ran some errands an found it was a known issue with Firefox and not a hardware problem.  He explained things in clear English, offered a great deal of useful info.   Gave me excellent advice on alternatives, which I've now followed with great success. 
Charged me nothing.
