Crown Mortgage

Crown Mortgage is located in an somewhat humble office location on the north side of town. That actually made me happy  because I don't want a service provider charging me extra for office and cars with fancy logos. Michael sat me down and was very personable. We chatted about work, hobbies and family and finally about my needs and what I was hoping to accomplish. Michael made the whole process informative, light and simple without confusion or overselling. He and Crown Mortgage delivered every bit on what they promised and what was in writing. It couldn't have been easier or more comfortable. I recommend Crown Mortgage. If looking to purchase or refi, give Crown Mortgage a call.

Amazing (again). This is the second time my wife and I have worked with Crown on financing for home. The first was the refinance of our previous property, and this most recent time was the purchase of a new one. What could have been a very arduous process was made super simple and understandable by Crown and their staff. We felt well informed before we got into the purchase of a short sale by Crown, and prepared for how this would affect the timing of the purchase. Crown's staff were very patient with our typical buyer anxieties, and went out of there way to make the paperwork side simple and painless. We were well taken care of each step of the way, and they were always very responsive and available. Big thanks to the Crown team for our second a finance with you. Look forward to doing it again.

Crown Mortgage was great to work with.  My loan officer couldn't have made the process any easier for me.  They helped me get a very low rate and saved me hundreds of dollars per month.  I thought that re-financing was supposed to be a difficult process with lots of paperwork, but Michael (my load officer) made it so easy and clear.  I couldn't believe how simple it was.  I have complete confidence in Crown Mortgage and would recommend them to anyone who is looking to finance or re-fi their home.

Great from start to finish. A couple of procedural delays but nothing serious.

Jason is one of the most professional and responsive Mortgage Officers that I have ever dealt with. I have been helping clients in the northeast for almost 20 years and had a client that moved to the Charlottesville area a couple of years ago. When it was time for a mortgage refinance earlier in 2013, I went to Angie's List to help me find a good candidate that I could work with. Jason responded very quickly to my requests for different rates and terms for the mortgage. He provided advice and recommendations when asked and he helped to make sure that the process went as smoothly as possible. I have worked with many mortgage brokers in my financial planning practice through the years and I would say that Jason is one of the best (if not the best) that I have ever worked with. He is truly knowledgeable and willing to take the time to explain the process and make sure you understand the process clearly. There were no surprises in any way (the time of the closing, the information that he needed us to provide, the costs, etc). NONE. Jason was as honest and professional as any service provider I have dealt with in the past. - a spectacular find. Thank you Angie's List for helping me find him.

This was about as simple a refinance as possible.  No issues with loan-to-value, income, taxes, escrow, insurance, etc.  Crown made an error on the initial paperwork to the lender they selected and as a result had to re-apply to another lender that they originally were not going to use.  We never got an understandable explanation of what this may have cost us, other than time.  We were not told when the closing was scheduled until we called them to inquire.  We were told it was the next day and they were surprised no one from their office had called us.  Although their staff was pleasant to deal with, we felt we did not receive straight, concise, and understandable answers to our questions.
We have financed/refinanced before and this ranks as our least satisfactory experience.  It was not terrible, but it was average at best.   We would not recommend them and we would not use them again.
