Everything went perfectly from the time Kim worked out the proposal until the job was completed. Shawn made sure the job was completed by the the date we requested. The work crew, Chip, David and Derrick, did all we asked of them. They did a great job!

These are the best painters in Charlottesville. Bill is professional, honest, and responsive. The crew is polite and thorough. I was most impressed with their willingness to return one month after the job and fix a problem that had re-appeared. For me, that is the differentiator between your average contractor and someone who cares.

I'd recommend this outfit.  It went well.  Got them in for estimate on Wed/Thurs and they had an opening early the following week.  I probably paid more than I would've had I waited longer or found some deals online, but they were responsive with the estimate, got in right away, did a nice job with only a few tiny spots that I fixed on my own.  I had moved my furniture, so that cost is excluded here.  They were in and out basically when they said they would and the painters were nice guys.  The paint looks really nice.

It took 3 and 1/2 days for the guys to complete the work.  A few times one would be pulled for another job.  We used 6 different paint colors throughout the home, including two reds which are difficult to paint.  The guys all did a great job.  I did notice that on the final day they were more in a hurry and did not take down the light fixture in the master bathroom, but painted around it.  All in all, I was extremely happy with their work on our home.  I have recommended them to friends.  I don't remember all their names but Angelo and Scott did a lot of the work and they were terrific.

When Bill Canavan came to do the quote, I showed him the front porch that has a lot of mildew and was the priority for pressure washing. I also showed him 3 boards of siding high up on the house that I wanted prepped and painted because the paint was peeling. I mentioned that we had also replaced a few siding boards elsewhere that needed painting, and asked to get a quote on that too as a possible add-on (since I could easily paint those myself). When I got the quote, it had a price for pressure washing the porch ($135) and a price for painting the peeling boards and the new boards together ($100). I decided to paint the new boards myself, because they are low down and easy to reach. While painting those, I noticed that parts of two other walls also had mildew, and called Certa Pro to ask if they could add pressure washing those to the quote also. They said it would be $150 extra. That seemed a little high, considering those walls were not nearly as mildewed as the front porch, but it was a larger area so I didn't question it.
The painter called me to schedule the work for Nov. 23. He called that morning to ask if he could come the day after instead. Not a big deal, but he didn't explain a reason for the delay so it seemed a little unprofessional. He came the next day and did the work in about 2 hours. Afterwards, I came by to inspect the work. Everything that was pressure washed looked great. The area that needed painting due to peeling paint looked good, although there was a small area near there that they hadn't done. I pointed it out and he painted it.
I was disappointed that the total price was $385 ($135+$100+150). I thought it would be less because they didn't paint the new siding boards (I had already painted them). When I looked at the original contract, it did say that the painting would be $100 (for peeling boards and new boards together). I guess I should have asked about the price after I painted the new boards myself, as the painting job would then be smaller.
Overall I was happy with the quality of the work. The only negative was that when I put away the paint can they used, I noticed that it was not hammered closed all the way. If I hadn't noticed that, the paint could have dried out. I would probably use Certa Pro again, but ask more explicit questions about the price quotes.

Our crew was conscientious and did a good job.  The owner met with us at the start of the job and as it neared completion to be sure we were happy with the paint job and the crew's work habits.  Certa-Pro was also the lowest of three estimates.   We would definitely use them again.

Chip and Scott did an excellent job painting our house. Our  house is approx. 3000 sq ft with many windows and architectural details to deal with. The house looks great. They were professional and courteous. We are very happy with our experience with Certapro Painters.

I was very pleased with CertaPro of Charlottesville. Bill provided a comprehensive and competitive estimate. The crew, headed up by Jorge, arrived when expected and the crew worked skillfully and quickly. Jorge responded to my questions and suggestions while the crew worked, and the crew cleaned up the worksite nicely at the end of each of the two days on the job. In the office, Angie was helpful on scheduling and arranging the payment. As I have inspected the work in the weeks since the work was done, I remain very satisfied with the quality of the materials used and the quality of the work. I have recommended CertaPro of C'ville to neighbors, I will call CertaPro the next time I need to have the house painted.

Went very well.  Exterior sides of house had algae build up which required manual brushing of exterior in addition to power wash.  Thoroughly cleaned algae, professional in conduct and appearance.  Took care to not damage spring plantings.  Took care in applying paint ot both trim and deck.

They were very professional when they came out and gave me their estimate. The price of the service was reasonable and went over my expectations. They seemed to be very competent and knowledgeable. When I inspected the job it was terrible. I need the house to be painted because the paint tiling, they hadn't done any scrapping they just painted right over the old tiling paint, so the new paint immediately was tiling off. There was no prep work. But, they came back and they made it right but I would never use them again. The owner was great but the actual painters were not great.

Communication was flawless. Job scheduling flowed smoothly from estimate, scheduling, admin, color communication, crew arrival, execution, cleanup and completion.
Also included was a repair so a door could be reattached to frame where the screw holes had become enlarged and screws
were loose.  A door sweep was also attached.
I was extremely relieved that the job was scheduled in so quickly as I had worn myself out painting 4 other rooms in my condo.
Being exhausted from that effort finding a painting company who could step in and take over was a lifesaver.
The 2 man crew were careful and checked with me at junctures in the project.  Much appreciated was the one day completion.
The new paint job is stunning.  Owner Bill Canavan came at job start to verify job details with his crew and myself.
My headache is GONE.  Bill's professionalism and high standards permeated the execution of the entire project from start to finish.
