Central Battery has been fulfilling the battery needs of folks around Charlottesville for over 26 years. It was- and it remains- nothing fancy really: just good products, good prices, and good service. If you've never tried us out, we encourage you to ask around town about us; we believe "word-of-mouth" is the best form of advertising. Central Better Specialists was recommended to me by two colleagues when my car died at work. I went to their new location (750 Harris Street), and was in and out in less than 15 minutes with a new battery, a nice conversation, and feeling like the person who helped me truly cared about my situation. I have now found a new place to get car batteries, and I will absolutely recommend them to everyone I know!! It was also cheaper than what I understand car batteries typically cost.

Took my car to them for a new battery. I had called in advance (only 20 minutes before I arrived) to ask if they had my battery in stock and if they could fit it...no problem they said. Arrived and left 20 minutes later with a new battery installed at the price quoted. Very pleasant experience with engaging people and a "can do" attitude. Very refreshing (particularly in a auto maintenance context!) I also note they sell AA and AAA Duracell batteries at about 2/3 the cost in a supermarket or hardware store. Will certainly be going back to them for any battery needs and highly recommend you doing the same.
