Auto Service
I had an excellent experience with them. They're five stars all around. It was paid for by the insurance. I just took my car there and trusted that they would get the work done, and get it done well. I didn't compare prices. I've been there more than once, and every time it's been excellent. They send text if you ask for it, so it's possible to know when the car will come back. They care about customers and actually getting the work done. Every employee that I've spoken with seem to take their job seriously. The quality was very good. The team effort was incredible.

They were horrible. I wouldn't bring anything to them, ever. When I was going to them, they wouldn't tell you anything. They promised something and then it would end up not happening. I think they've lost their ability to actually be compassionate and empathetic to their clientele. There were so many things that were wrong. I was promised it would be a two-week service and it ended up being eight weeks. I know that they caused other damage to my car when it was there because I walked around my car and noted every single scratch. It was a brand-new car. There were a bunch of new scratches on the hood. They insisted that they were there when I brought it in and I told them they weren't. It was totally shady. I would tell other members not to go there.

Auto Body Work
The job took a lot longer than promised. They broke the windshield but repaired it. The job took months to complete. There was othe damage that occurred that they refused to take responsibility for.

Auto Body Work
I called the Collision place and asked about the warning light. After two days, (apparently at the Honda division) I was told that they could find nothing wrong with it. I asked about the fluid levels and was assured that everything was fine, and it didn't need any more oil or transmission fluid. Nor did it need an oil change. I had to return to SC, but during the trip the warning light went on again. I checked and found that it was more than a quart of oil low. When I got to Columbia, I took it to a Subaru dealer and he re-checked the sensor and said that it was fine. He explained that it couldn't possibly have lost a quart of oil during the 240 miles I had driven it from Brown's. It obviously was low at the time of the collision and-also obviously- no one had checked it. Since then, I have driven it over 1500 miles and it hasn't lost a drop of oil. The car is barely two years old and has 20k miles on it.
When I returned to Charlottesville, I called Brown's Collision center, and left a message with the fellow who had been in charge of the body work, and the one who had assured me that everything had checked out fine. He didn't bother returning my calls, but finally did so. He, less than politely, told me that it was my responsibility to check the oil. I told him that I normally do, but not immediately after I'm told that a qualified service has done the checking. I asked him who had supposedly done this job and he said that he would find out and call me back later. After two weeks, I called their Honda division and told them about my experience. The man said that he would check into it and have his manager call me. Ha!!! No call, no luck. Clearly, they lied about this, and perhaps about everything else. It hadn't occurred to me to check the place out, but I'm obviously not the only person to have had troubles with these people.

This shop is terrific. I've used them three times to repair damage to my cars caused by vandals or other drivers slipping on icy roads. Each time the work has been stellar and the convenience outstanding. They collaborate with Enterprise Rental so that getting into a rental car when dropping of your own car is ultra easy.
