This company failed to solve the issue. The staff was extremely rude, unresponsive, and unprofessional. Any other company would be a better choice to do business with.

Response from Blue Ridge Termite & Pest
"Blue Ridge Termite & Pest was hired to perform a visual WOOD DESTROYING INSECT INSPECTION. We can report on damaged Caused by woodpeckers as they feed an many types of insects. This client is assuming it was carpenter bee's.... We cant assume as professional's . We have to see the activity. Woodpecker damage is quite different from carpenter bee damage. The client's actual home inspector that she hired should have noted that his report. In regards to us not being responsive or difficult is extremely inaccurate... In fact we provided 1 treatment at no charge & the client also purchased a proactive termite soil treatment from Blue Ridge also after the carpenter treatment had been completed ..which is mind boggling & makes no sense if we did just a lousy on the inspection & bee treatment. In regards to running 20 minutes late.... Again not accurate... The appointment was scheduled between 9&10 am.... The tech arrived at 9:22 am...this was verified by reviewing the tracking system that is on all of our vehicles. These clients were extremely difficult to deal with... We get 2 or 3 clients a year like this & they are the ones who typically abuse Angies List. The client also failed to mention that the damage that her home inspector that she hired missed was over 35 ft in the air. We worked hard here Blue Ridge to earn your business & we work even harder to keep it...within reason. We went above & beyond Make this client happy...free treatments, greatly reduced pricing & even provided a warranty on the termite treatment. For those of you who read this & have questions feel free to contact us at 434.284.2093 We would appreciate your feedback. Have a great day"

I had no trouble making the appointment and they came very quickly. The owner was here both times. He was friendly and courteous. It is still a work in progress for we are still dealing with the mice, but they have been responsive, been here twice, and continue to advise about the best course of action. They are not pushy, they are willing to work with you and have been very responsive to my concerns. They used booties to keep the mud outside. I am hopeful that we can resolve our rodent problem with their help.

I recently moved my family down to the Charlottesville area from Washington DC on very short notice and ended up in a 100+ year old home that had been unoccupied for 2-3 months and was surrounded by a hay field and woods. Not surprisingly, mother nature did not wait for us to occupy it - she placed some of her own in the house prior to our arrival. We discovered a LOT of insects, which we were comfortable if not effective dealing with. Then we ran across the mice, which were unpleasant, but we believed within our means. We hit our limit when we started finding the snakes. Neither myself nor my wife are lovers of either rodents or insects, but we both have serious problems with snakes and with a 2 and 4 yr old in the house, were were minutes from moving out and never looking back - enter the Blue Ridge Termite and Pest folks. We didn't know them from Adam, but by the grace of God they were the ones that the property management called. They sent an individual out quickly and he inspected the property thoroughly, answered all of our questions completely (and understandably), proposed and executed a comprehensive treatment plan (inside and out), put in place a number of glue traps in order to identify if anything else got in, and then advised us of a number of conditions around the house (i.e. landscaping) that would encourage future intrusions if not addressed (as well as provided some ideas on how we might resolve them). The individual that responded (Justin) not only resolved our problems, but educated us on a number of things that we could do in the future to effectively address minor issues ourselves as well as a multitude of myths that just don't work (many of which I had already tried). I'm happy (incredibly relieved actually) to be able to say that we've never seen or heard any sign of another rodent or snake since they came. There has been a LOT of action at the bait stations that they set up outside the house (per the plan), but not a single uninvited guest has made it into the house as evidenced by the still empty glue traps. I don't have any experience with any of the other pest control companies in the area and thus really can't compare the Blue Ridge Termite and Pest folks to anyone else. Based on the fact that they walked into what I had already determined was a lost cause and not only made it right, but managed to talk both my wife and me off of the ledge and get us back into the game (and saved us having to find/move to another house), I don't see myself ever getting any experience with any other pest control company.

Great company. Very professional and knowledgeable.. Love the minty mosquito spray they did..:) A Realtor friend recommended them and i am grateful for that. I don't like chemicals and their products are eco-friendly and they work.

I first met Gary after I had received an estimate to eradicate termites in one of my rental properties from another company. My tenant complained of flying termites or ants and so I called two companies out of the phone book to take a look at it. The first company sent an inspector who told me I had a termite infestation and that they would charge me $800 to eradicate it. Then Gary came by and inspected it and said there was NO termite infestation at all. The damage the previous inspector showed me was done a long time ago, before I owned the house, and the termites were killed at that time. And the flying insects were harmless ants not termites. So Gary said nothing needed to be done. He saved me $800 that an unscrupulous contractor would have charged me to fix a non-exisitent problem. Needless to say next time I needed an exterminator he was the man I called. He has integrity, is professional, honest and reasonably priced. I wouldn't feel comfortable calling anyone else.

The reason that we went with them is because they us organic, nontoxic products. There were two young men and were very polite and they came when they came when they said they are going to come. These were nice young men to work with. They seem very knowledgeable. They were very neat about their work and we were very happy with them. We thought that they were expensive and we felt that this guy was reasonable for the work that we got.
