To turn off the water, sheet-rock had to be cut in the adjoining bedroom. The faucet was replaced quickly and the site was left clean.

He came on the same day that I called him and, using an electric snake, routed out fifty years of junk in the kitchen drain that was blocking the pipe. Took him an hour and cleaned up afterward. Water no longer backs up and slow down but flows out quickly. I'm very happy. I'm getting ready to sell my house and this is certainly one item on the inspection I won't need to worry about.

We were afraid the sewer line was block, but he quickly found and fixed a stuck float valve on the sewage pump. Huge relief, and he came the same day.

We were scheduled for the day before and he was 40 minutes late so I called and changed it to the next morning at 9 am. He should have called me and said he would be late but he didn't. The next morning he was 30 minutes late. I consider being late an important deduction when grading service. People take time off from their jobs to be there for the service. It is up to the technician to call and let the client know they are running late and ask if they would like to reschedule. It is not up to the client to call and try to hunt the technician down. After he got there, everything went well. It was a serious clog but he fixed it. He also took care to lay down plastic and also cleaned up pretty well afterwards.

After speaking with 4 other plumbers Kevin came to the house immediately
and completed just what I asked him too. The large drain from the house to
the street gets clogged with tree roots every 2 years. Kevin first had
the necessary tools (large electric snake) and second did not try to
talk me into a camera view or replacing the entire pipe.
Not only that but his price was a third, yes 1/3 of an earlier quote given this morning.

I like him. He is very honest and knowledgeable and reasonable. He was efficient, competent and informed. I spent a lot. It cost a little more than I was hoping, but I think that was more on me than him.

Kevin is known to be the best person to call if you have a clog somewhere in your main line. Two other plumbers gave me his name when either they did not think they could clear the line or tried and did not succeed. He lived up to the reputation today.
We already had one plumber here yesterday who ran a 50' line twice and could not clear it. Even though Kevin was booked solid, he made the time to come this afternoon and was able to finally get that sweet sound of water rushing through the pipes!
He does lay down plastic but be prepared - it can be a mess anyway.
The only drawback is the answering service. I'm not sure if he always gets his messages as I had to call three times within a seven day period. So be diligent.
I'm not sure what other plumbers charge, but his fee is $100 an hour. But he did exactly what I needed to have done so my and quot;Band quot; grade on price is based on affordibility. But you get what you pay for! He is supremely diligent and knowlegeable about what he does best.

He was running a little late from a previous job, but everything went just fine from there. He puts down protective sheeting to keep the mess to a minimum. He used a couple of different router attachments. I had a larger plumbing company out to do the same job a couple years before. They sent two guys, took 3 times as long as Kevin did (with a bill to match). They claimed they routed the pipe all the way out to the main, twice, and it was still blocked! They finally ended up pouring sulfuric acid down it. Based on my experience with Kevin, my guess is that the first guys actually had the router going up the vent towards the roof instead of down the pipe. It's easy to do, but it's also easy to figure out if one of them had gone down into the basement to listen (it's obvious when the router is in the drain correctly). A couple times Kevin had the router go the wrong way (up instead of down) and he could tell just by the feel. -- he's an old pro at this. He also told me that I'm taking pretty good care of my drains, so that if I'm getting a clog every couple years, there may be a low spot in the pipe, which I can correct myself. I'm going to try this, but if I do need someone again, Blue Ridge Rooter's the one I'm going to call.

Our main drain got clogged. This happens every couple of years, as tree roots grow into the old tile drains. Blue Ridge Rooter was reffered by my regular plumber (Randy Dickerson) who does not do drain rooting that requires 100 foot snakes. Blue Ridge Rooter is a one-man business, and the proprietor (Kevin Burns) was prompt, pleasant, charged what he said he would, and did an excellent job...including cleaning up. A few weeks later the drain from our air conditioner clogged, and I called Blue Ridge again, and had the same experience. So I asked him to pre-emptively clean out all the drains, as a preventive measure, which he did expeditiously and without trying to find other ways of charging us.
