Amy did yeowoman's work to get us into a home we love.  My family is very grateful to her. Where to start? She is honest, exceedingly smart, professiional, patient (obviously), tough but with a good heart, funny, direct, tactful and genuine. In the years we worked together, she was never late even once. On the rare occasions when Amy couldn't meet us at our earliest convenience, she asked her knowledgeable and pleasant team member, Deborah Rutter, to assist us. Amy's excellent memory proved very valuable near the end of our search.  After viewing so many properties. we had forgotten why we had rejected houses that we had viewed much earlier.  In fact, we had visited in 2011 the house we ended up buying in 2012, rejected it in 2011 for issues that were legitimate but fixable, and then kind of forgot about it.  The former owners lowered the price $50K and Amy suggested we take a second look.  Amy and her terrific team member Deborah Rutter negotiated a further reduction of about $18K. I'm so glad Amy remembered our present house and convinced us to take a fresh look and had the patience to put up with us for 3 years because we got a great house at a reduced price.

Simply put, Amy is the best realtor anyone could ever hope for! I have moved over 15 times in my life and have worked with realtors from all over the country. I have never worked with anyone who has gone to the lengths Amy did to find us a home and make the deal happen! Her knowledge of the Charlottesville area and of real estate made it an almost seamless experience for us. She puts her time, her heart and her energy into everything she does for you. I still get emails from her with regards to things she  thinks will be of interest to me:) She is well informed and well connected. Your mind will be ease knowing Amy is on your side, she thinks of everything!

We started looking in 2010. We dreaded getting an agent for obvious reasons for anyone familiar with the process.  But we bit the bullet and started interviewing agents who had good reviews online and Amy by far gave us the best impression. She was very direct even when we asked some hard questions and she gave answers that were honest rather than designed to win us over.  More than anything, we wanted honest so we appreciated her willingness to tell it like it is rather than worrying about first impressions. It was absolutely the right decision. We are very picky plus have special requirements because one of us works from home. We postponed moving in 2010 and decided to rent in 2012.  She has not lost patience or pushed us into buying something we wouldn't be happy with.  We will continue shopping for a house while we rent.  As I said above, we probably would have bought a house this year but Amy researched and uncovered a huge problem. A less honest agent would have taken the commission sooner rather than later, especially since we would not have blamed her for not spotting that problem. I will happily serve as a reference for Amy in the future.
