After another patch of poor weather and another visit by Miss Utility, the project got started in late October with Mark supervising all the work. After locating the irrigation lines, the excavator got started right away. This person was a highly qualified professional and his work with the machinery was outstanding. About halfway down the driveway they identified the power and cable lines and expertly navigated around them. The two other crew members worked along the excavator pulling up rocks, cutting roots, and removing other debris. The excavating was done in the morning and in the afternoon the crew lined the ditch with fabric. Next, they began to carefully place the larger rocks into the ditch on top of the fabric. Each large rock was meticulously placed by hand in the ditch, very similar to putting a jigsaw puzzle together. This took a couple of days to complete. Once this was done another layer of smaller stones were distributed between the spaces between the large rocks. When this was done, the area was completely cleaned up. A pile of large rocks were left for us to use around the rest of the yard. It was an amazing job and we are very pleased by how attractive it is. All the employees were courteous and hard working. It was a very professionally done job by everyone involved and they answered all our questions along the way. We had requested quotes from two other local companies that we never heard from again after leaving numerous messages with their answering services. We were very impressed with the prompt and courteous approach from Mark and his company down to his work crews. We would highly recommend Acclaim Services for your landscaping needs.

All went very well. Mark's choice of stone and plants were very nice and brought many compliments. The driveway is exceptional and nicely finished on either side with stone as well as correcting awkward spots with stone. He added extra touches which made a nice finish. I appreciated and am enjoying all the upgrades.

Mark Harris was excellent and had great ideas for how to re-do our front yard. He sent a detailed, illustrated proposal so we could have a full picture of the work to be done. The plants he chose to replace the old ones are beautiful, and we can't wait until they bloom more. Acclaim Services completed the job in a reasonable amount of time and they were very professional. Mark also offered us a payment plan, which we thought was a nice option to have. Everything looks amazing!

Acclaim services did a fantastic job transforming a pea gravel pit into an exposed aggregate concrete patio with edging surrounded by stone mulch. The crew installed a French drain under the stone mulch to correct a drainage issue. The design, created by Mark, is much more appealing than our original plan for a concrete slab. Plus, it solved our drainage issue as well. Mark was an excellent communicator throughout the process, as we had a few days of rain. I had also requested that he inform me of the days his crew would be there, so that I could make sure the dogs would not be in the backyard. He honored my requested and ensured I had advance notice. Upon completion of the project, his crew did a walk through with me to ensure I was satisfied with the product. They cleaned up everything and Mark came back as well to ensure we were satisfied with their work. The professionalism and quality of work that Mark and his team members demonstrated is much appreciated.

Acclaim has performed several significant landscaping projects for me over the past two years.  Pricing is fair, quality of work is high, and all communication is prompt and thorough.  Additionally, and most impressively, owner Mark spent a lot of time ensuring the project met all my expectations, during both the planning and execution phases of the work.  The finished projects are beautiful, and exactly what we wanted.  I highly recommend Acclaim.

It turned out great!  The work was very nicely done.  Mark was very knowledgeable about how to proceed and had great suggestions.  Mark answered my inquiry the same day, came out the next day to look at the area; and within a day as I recall, we had an estimate.  Mark gave us a projected date of completing the work, and the start date was moved back only one day due to weather.  Mark was on-site to supervise the work of his crew.  His crew was very polite, and the area was cleaned up afterward.  We were very impressed with Mark's professionalism, and his knowledge of  hardscaping, lawn care, and landscaping.  He made an additional stone surrounded area just beyond the timbers between the edge of the deck and the concrete pad at our back doors at no additional cost, and made helpful suggestions about plantings for the area around the deck.  We are delighted with the end result, and have talked to him about a lawn treatment and shrubbery maintenance program.  We also plan to have him complete a fabric and stone mulch area for a very large mulch bed in the front of our home early next spring.

We asked him to give us a price on the first job, the front lawn, which needed either seeding or sod and a bit of landscaping work. He was SO convincing and knowledgeable that we decided to go with him. We were not disappointed.
We talked with him about our driveway problem. The apron washed away in places and needed to be replaced. Again, he had excellent ideas, and we decided to go with them. He could not get to the driveway immediately but filled it in sufficiently for us to use in the meantime--at no extra charge. When the City of Charlottesville sent three inspectors who said three different things about what the city required, he dealt patiently but firmly with them (this is an election year, and he knew how to press his advantage). The job is now complete, and it is a pleasure to look at it. The apron is expertly done, the stone edging on the right side is flawless, and we have bright golden crushed stone on the driveway and mulch on the right edge. It looks very nice.

Both jobs had excellent results. The parking pad was designed by Mark with curved lines that merge into
the sidewalk and existing driveway.. It is in the front yard, so we wanted it to look nice as well as be functional.
Mark suggested use of an aggregate concrete that is simply beautiful. The combination of the parking pad and
sidewalk have addressed mobility issues that I have, and allow me to enter and exit the house by myself.
The second job transformed the front of our house from looking like an abandoned property to one that we
can enjoy. There are still some planting decisions to be made and implemented, but that will be a third job.
We look forward to working with Mark and his crew again.

Mark Harris arrived promptly, provided the requested estimate of the planned work, and made some excellent suggestions. Since his company had done work for us before, we were confident that the job would be carried out as he said it would. Three weeks after the first conversation, the work started. Two small trees had to be removed first, then the bobcat dug out the clay soil, many large tree roots, and rocks. Rain intervened and prevented completion of the work exactly as planned, but Mark's men were back on the job as soon as weather permitted, and finished the job only a few days after the scheduled date.

The new 50' perennial border is now complete, and we have easily planted 100s of bulbs for spring bloom, perennials for year-round color, and annuals to provide color for the remaining weeks of fall. None of this could have been accomplished without the work that Mark's crew did in creating a permanent improvement in the potential of our landscape.

It was a long process because it took a while for the ivy to die back, but the end results were very good.

I just started using them and it was a good experience.  He explains what needs to be done and why it should be done.  He is prompt about getting back to me.

Mark Harris arrived promptly, provided a written estimate of work to be performed, and suggested several ideas and improvements to our plan. The work was performed exactly as planned, on time and on budget. Mark understood the special needs of our family for handicapped access and was able to suggest improvements to our plan, such as a 36" width to the walkway instead of 30", to accommodate a possible future need for wheelchair access. We couldn't be more pleased with his and his workmen's performance.

Mark Harris was very helpful and efficient in getting the work done properly and in a timely manner. Among calls placed to several landscapers, Mark was the first to call back, within minutes, although his staff was fully booked. He arrived promptly when he said he would, provided a complete estimate of the costs of the work, and saw to it that his staff arrived punctually and performed exactly as expected.
Mark is very friendly and likes to offer suggestions and ideas. He is very professional and sees to it that all work is satisfactory to the client.

My experience with Acclaim Services was a pleasure from start to finish. I received several estimates from various landscaping companies in the area, and Acclaim's was by far the most detailed and comprehensive. Where other companies told me that I might have to remove a tree, Acclaim had an arborist come out to a**** the situation and draw up an estimate. Mark Harris was very easy to work with, and very communicative throughout the entire process. I am very pleased with the work Acclaim has performed, and would recommend them highly to anyone looking to have work done in their yard.

Mr. Harris and his staff were extremely professional and pleasant to work with.  Mr. Harris provided a number of services from tree removal to wall construction.  He was always thoughtful, took time to sit and work through the plan with us.  While work was in progress he constantly came by to check on crew in progress.  Excellent work.

They were professional, had quality workmen, showed up on time and worked hard, started and completed the project as promised, supervised by owner who is very knowledgeable and communicates very well.  It was one of the few projects we have ever done where it basically was a flawless experience.  It was for a church.
