 + -1 moreScheduling a swim time was worse than a nightmare. Website was unusable on a mobile device. A kind employee offered to take reservations by phone. Management overruled her. Her reaction - happy to give us a refund. Think twice b4 joining this club.

 + 1 moreI'm a middle-aged guy who's not in the best shape. So after the physical therapy sessions ended, I joined the full ACAC health club. It has been a very positive experience. As a new member I received 3 free sessions with a personal trainer. At first I was skeptical about what a personal trainer could do for me (trust me, I'm no "gym rat"). I worked with Peter Pelny for 3 sessions and he has made a tremendous difference! He's careful to work within my personal limits and to give me exercises and routines that improve my overall health. I feel better now than I have during the past decade. ACAC also has a variety of classes that my wife has used during the past many years. Even when she was seriously ill a few years ago she was able to attend mind-body classes (such as Tai-Chi) to keep her active until she could resume her usual routines.
Description of Work: Last winter I fell on the ice and needed physical therapy. ACAC's physical therapy clinic helped a great deal. Not only could I use their PT clinic, but they also provided access to the full health club (through their PREP program). Because of all their resources, my recovery was very quick.

Description of Work: I was a member at ACAC for over five years but the membership folks at the DOWNTOWN LOCATION wanted me to provide a photograph to be stored digitally as identification. I preferred not to do this and was harassed every time I went to the gym by whoever was at the check-in station. I asked that I be able to show my valid Virginia license as identification but they refused. The last time I went to my Body Pump class at the gym, the membership director or manager followed me into my class insisting that I come outside the studio to talk; I refused and he threatened me with a registered letter that would cancel my membership. I was bullied every time I went to the gym about that photograph. I didn't want one stored in their system along with whatever other personal information they had on record for me already. They would not consider an alternative and made coming to the gym a horrible experience for me until I finally cancelled the membership myself.

 + -1 moreACAC Fitness center ranks at the top for friendliness, cleanliness, and professionalism. As soon as you enter the front door, one is impressed by attractiveness of the premises. The staff are welcoming and helpful. A full range of weights and equipment are available. ACAC has a full schedule of classes for all age groups and fitness levels. Personal and group training are also offered. All facilities especially the shower and dressing area are kept meticulously clean. Child care is also offered. This is a place where all ages and fitness levels can workout together.comfortably.

 + -1 moreMy husband belongs to the athletic center at that facility. The staff are very pleasant, the environment is clean, they have soothing surroundings and I was in a private room. I received calm music, candle light, massages, hot wax for the pain and a pedicure and the procedure was very involved and very well done.
Description of Work: I go to the ACAC Fitness & Wellness Centers for fitness training and spa services. I first went to this center for spa services as a gift from my husband.

Description of Work: We were looking for a fitness center where we could have weekend access as we spend most of our weekends in Charlottesville. The membership women we met with came up with a cost effective way for us to utilize ACAC. The facililty is wonderful and all the employees have been terrific.

Description of Work: I love the ACAC. I go there to workout. It is the only place in town that I have found with good childcare. You receive 2.5 hours of childcare everyday while you are working out.

 + -1 moreWe joined ACAC after checking out other smaller gyms in the area and looking for an at home personal trainer. ACAC couldn't be beat with the amount, quality and variety of equipment and the breadth and volume of classes. We are very happy with the overall quality of their facilities and professionalism and level of their service.
Description of Work: We are new to the C'ville area and looking at higher-end / more challenging fitness center programs than what our country club has to offer.

 + -1 moreIf I use a personal trainer it costs $70 an hour, and it's not cheap, so I don't use too much of those. They have up to date modern equipment plus they have professional trainers and they also have physical therapy like sauna, massages the whole nine yard. It's upscale and really nice. I am satisfied with them.
Description of Work: I used ACAC Fitness & Wellness Centers for fitness training. I have been going there since 1993, and I go to them three times a week.

 + -1 moreIt is fabulous. I found a trainer that I like very much, and really helps me. It has classes everyday, and they are excellent. I use those several times a week. It has a pool and fitness equipment, both of which I use regularly. They are all absolutely excellent. I do think they do a good job. I started using them because I discovered that I needed to change my exercise program and they have an excellent pool. They are so good that I branched out and started other things. I think the trainers, instructors, and classes are excellent.

 + -1 moreThey are excellent. They're one of my favorite places. I've had a membership with them for quite some time. They have a swimming pool. They offer martial arts classes as well as aerobic and step classes. They do have a great staff of people. If I am able to afford it I will definitely use them again.

 + -1 moreI like them very much. They are quite good. They have a very nice facility out on Robious Road. They have updated it with brand new outdoor and indoor pools and they have lot of equipments in there. They are terrific, they really are. They have been a very good company. In terms of price, I am single so it is hard for me to judge on family pricing. Basically, they were a member a long time ago and I was put into it, I get a very good discounted rate. The price is right for me but I cannot really talk for other family members. People seem to come, it is going and it is a big company. Their quality is excellent.
Description of Work: I use the services of ACAC Fitness & Wellness Centers. The last time I went there, was probably about a month ago. I have been ill so I had to stop working with them but until then I was a regular, I went every week.
