The gym has a pleasant atmosphere and good workout equipment.

In general, ACAC is great. I have only gone to the Downtown Charlottesville location. I have primarily used the machines, weights, and the pool. We also use the KidsZone for child care while we work out. The most frequent activity I do is swim laps. It is usually fine, but can get crowded with only four lanes. The main issue is that lanes are often blocked for swimming lessons that are not noted on their printed pool schedule. This means it's hard to plan to swim when there is maximum lane availability. I have no idea why they can't include all of their lessons/classes on the schedule. In addition, my questions about infant swimming classes went unanswered by the aquatic director. I would also say that though the club is nice, it's also quite expensive. For example, the infant swimming classes are more than double the cost of the city-provided classes nearby, even for ACAC members. Other than that, I'm happy with the quality of the club, the customer service, and the child care. They now provide free towel service, which is another great benefit.

ACAC (Atlantic Coast Athletics Centre) Fitness and Wellness Centers - Charlottesville are wonderful. They have equipment and physical therapists. They have all sorts of teachers, you can learn everything from Boxing to Swimming there. You can even learn Belly Dancing! They have a variety of teachers for all the classes so if one doesn't strike your fancy you can go to another one. It's not a beauty show type of fitness place. It's for real people who have real bodies and that's really nice. I don't feel I have to put on makeup to go there!

I've been a member since the middle 1990's. I usually work out at the downtown facility. Great facilities, poor parking during high use times...4-7PM. They've just renovated the women's locker rooms...hope they do the same with the men's soon.

I would highly recommend them. It's just an outstanding facility which has got good personal trainers. I would continue to use them in the future if I needed to.

They charge an outrageous amount. They do have a wide selection of classes offered, but are pretty skimpy on weight equipment. They are suing to prevent a YMCA from opening in the area.

They have two locations. My dislike with them is that they are too pricey. For the area of Charlottesville it is not the best fitness location. I am not sure about their professionalism as I don't ever talk to them. I would use them again in the future.

I can speak very very highly of how well they operate and how friendly the staff is.

I used to pay a huge sum for a monthly membership. The equipment was great and the facility was nice. The younger trainers were not that friendly as I am aged, for which reason I stopped going there. I will not use them in future again.

ACAC Fitness and Wellness Centers is one of the twelve medically certified athletic clubs in the country. They have a program initially for people who had recent heart attacks or medical issues where they put together an exercise program with the doctor’s written letter. They will monitor the special areas. The trainers work with me and put together a specific program to meet my goals or to recognize any particular limitations that I may have. I can see various kinds of people working out there. It is a very nice and comforting place to work out.
