Excellent! A Travelers rep got back to me immediately after my call and had an adjustor onsite one day, following. The Travelers adjustor was professional, friendly, and he took great care in evaluating the situation and in dealing with it in a very fair and customer oriented way. I actually commented to him that he seemed to be very happy in his work. He agreed. I really felt as though Travelers had my back on this problem.

We ended up going online through our car insurance to get the home insurance. They have very low rates for insurance. Their workers are pleasant. It's a C on the overall grade because they made a ridiculous request for us to update or make changes to our house in order to keep coverage.

I must say I was very happy with the service.  I had an accident, which was my fault back in January, 2014.  I called them to start processing the claim, as well as the other vehicle.  They actually came to me at my house to do the estimate, reserved for a rental car who came to pick me up.  They arranged for towing of my car from my house to the auto body shop.  They called me to give me the estimates and the estimated time when my vehicle will be ready.  I didn't need to see the body shop until it was time for me to pick up my car.  I also dropped off the rental car at the Enterprise Rental Car office by the body shop.
In other words, they did all the leg work for me in a way that my work hours were not disrupted as much because of the accident.  They also took care of the other vehicle and gave me all the listing of expenses.  They kept me updated as to the progress of my claim and of the repairs on my vehicle.
I was happy with the repairs and I got my car back in very good condition.
I thought the best part was that when I received the renewal of my insurance policy, my premium was increased only reasonably.  I am very satisfied with Travellers Insurance.

I got a great multi-policy discount through Travelers.  I now get home and auto insurance through them and save a lot of money.

I was very happy for nearly 10 years with my State Farm Home Insurance. But, before renewing my insurance I decided to call around. I called GEICO, my car insurance, to see if they had a better deal and they did via Travelers.  I signed up and they said that they needed to come out an inspect to make sure that I did indeed have 2 separate utility meters because I have a 2-family historic Victorian row house.
Well, today, after the inspection, I got a letter in the mail saying that because I had a tar and gravel roof and my cast iron front stairs had some damage I would need to replace/repair these in the next 65 days or else they would jack up my premiums.
I had no idea that they were looking for this (and the inspector never went on top of my roof) or that the price could change if they found things they considered problems.
I've already called State Farm to see if I can come back.
BEWARE of home Travelers' inspectors who say they are coming to inspect one thing and then inspect something you have no idea about that could cost you thousands  of dollars to change or elevated premiums.

My original policy was with Geico but they passed my homeowners policy to travelers. For years I paid the premium and all was fine. Last summer an animal got stuck in my chimney and died. Unfortunately my chimney flu is 3 layers of cylinders and the animal was wedge between the outer two. As a result the entire inside had to be gutted and replaced. Travelers sent not one, not two, but 3 male agents to my home to review the situation. Before it was even looked at one of the men said that it wasn't covered (there is a clause in the Marlyand contract that specifically states that animal damage is covered!). He looked up the chimney for less than 30 seconds and declared that there was a construction problem. The flu was held in place by wood beams so that it would not move over time. The problem is that the construction was excellent (a builder actually thought ahead). The problem was that they would have to cut through dry wall to un-attach the flu i.e. they didn't want to pay the extra costs. I was appalled that a company would send 3 men (in my opinion an attempt to intimidate and take advantage of a single woman). I am disgusted at the lack of honesty and professionalism displayed by Travelers Insurance. I would never recommend this company.

We have had Traveler's homeowner's insurance for over 12 years.  During that time, we had no problems--we just paid and were covered.  Two years ago (a month before our daughter's wedding), we had a leak in our upstairs bathroom that caused damage to the kitchen and breakfast area below.  We filed our first claim with Traveler's for repairs ($1500).  Their representative was great.  Explained everything-very responsive.  One year later we had a similar problem (the work from the previous year was not up to par) and filed a smaller claim for repairs ($750).  Everything's great now.
Fast forward to this year, when we received a letter saying we would not be renewed because we had filed 2 claims in 3 years and are considered high risk!!  I contact Traveler's and explained what had happened and why the problem is resolved.  I was told there is no option to appeal.  I read on their Facebook page of others who'd had this problem and was directed to contact their Customer Advocacy group which I did.  Again, there's nothing they can do--we're cancelled.  I even discussed paying a higher premium.  No, you're cancelled--good luck.  Good luck indeed.  I am now working with 3 insurance brokers to get coverage and so far no one will cover us.  However, from what I've read, this is a continuing problem with Traveler's.  No matter how long you've been with them, if you file more than 2 claims in 3 years--you're dropped.
We are first time homeowners and assumed that having homeowners insurance would cover repairs.  We haven't used them for other things, but because this concerned water in the walls and we were worried about mold, we wanted to make sure that there wouldn't be problem down the road--after all mold is covered too.
They'll cover a multitude of items, but if you use the service you've paid for--you're cancelled.  I'm glad my health insurance doesn't work like this.

I had a car accident. They took care off everything, provided a rental car for 4 weeks while my car was in the shop - everything paid in full. No hassle at all. It was very pleasant and the service consultant followed up with me every 2 or three days to keep me informed.

I've paid $700 and they only want to pay around $100. I have filed two claims. I filed the first claim two years ago because of water damage in the lower level of my home and the drywall needs to be replaced. It has not been satisfied. They sent me a letter like a nasty gram. Regarding the second claim for tree work, I sent pictures of trees lending against my home because of the storm and they took so long in responding. They only want to pay $100 and I pay them $250 each month. Now they want to send an estimator. I had to get the trees off my home. I had to spring for the cost while waiting on them. I sent them three estimates and tried to talk to an agent this morning. I have already spent $700 and the trees still need to be replaced. They won't pay for it and I won't be renewing with them. I have had them for years and it is totally acceptable. The trees damaged my home and roof. I have a $250 deductible and I am well over that. They wanted me to climb a ladder to see the damage. I have a huge home. Travelers will not come out and honor their agreement on both of my claims. One of their adjusters was punctual, but the other two were not. I have been waiting over a month for a response.

I was not unhappy with Travelers, but I did some shopping around and found a better rate with another company. I never had any problems with their service. I never bothered to shop around until recently when money became an issue. I would use them again in the future if they were cheaper.

Awful. Some of the method of repairs were just ludicrous. For example, painting half of a wall. The claim occurred on the 4th of July. I had to fight to get anyone to come out before the 6th.

We had a tree fall on our home. We contacted Travelers. They told us to take care of anything sitting on the house, and to go ahead and have the tree removed- remembering to keep any receipts. Travelers Insurance adjuster, Mr. Dennis, came out to check our house a few days after the tree fell. He was very pleasant, courteous, and patient with our questions. He investigated everything at our home, taking approximately three hours! He gave us an entire write up of cost estimates and the payment break down, in writing, there on the spot. A check arrived within one week, even before final work repairs began. They did not question any of our losses or damages, but instead were helpful. The company used a very common sense approach in helping us.
