TICONDEROGA FARMS

We've been to get our Christmas tree every year starting in 2008. We wanted to make this a family tradition. Unfortunately for us, each year the staff gets progressively more rude about my daughter's service dog. This year was the worst. Let me just say that my daughter and her dog have been everywhere together - a book signing for Jimmy Carter, A picture of her and her dog with the former governor of VA in his offices at a bill signing (Tim Kaine) when we helped update VA service dog laws, a dude ranch in Colorado, flying at her feet on United, traveling on the Auto Train to Disney World - and Disney World among numerous restaurants, cafes grocery stores etc. Her dog is perfectly behaved and trained to the nines - he has made life for my daughter so much better. I'm sure the Ticonderoga staff are not giving their behavior a second thought - but for us, the experience lingers as my daughter has to come back from the panic and fear of being separated from her dog and from us based her perspective from the rude and illegal behavior of the staff there. There was no sensitivity, no accommodation and no common sense or common decency in the way the staff treated my family. We got the Ticonderoga Farms message that we are not welcome there with our disabled daughter - LOUD and CLEAR. We didn't even get an apology. Who any one of us patronizes is up to each individual. If discrimination doesn't bother you than by all means patronize Ticonderoga Farms.
