I visited this shop, for the first time, because they offered a generous discount of $6 off the cost of the inspection ($16) and it was in close proximity to my home. Unfortunately, I failed the inspection. I spoke with the owner and founder, Rick Carter (with over 20 years experience) that my vehicle required a tie rod on the driver side, 2 new front tires and alignment. Rick provided an estimate for repairs. I left and proceeded to get tire estimates from several shops in the area and finally settled on Costco. I returned on 7/14/12 to have Rick make the necessary repairs ($304.11) in order to pass the inspection.
On July 8, 2013, I returned for the State and Emission Inspection with a generous discount of $9 off the cost of $44. I passed my inspections with flying colors. Before leaving the shop, Rick brought to my attention the splash guards underneath the front bumper that needed to be secured. I approved for a cost of $47.39. If these guards were left alone, they could be eventually ripped off (parking over a curb) and replacement would cost around $200.
The waiting room is very clean and comfortable environment with TV, newspaper and coffee.
I found Rick to be very pleasant, professional and honest.

Excellent. I have been going to South Riding Automotive ever since they opened for what was five family cars at a certain period in time. Rick, the owner, is a gifted auto technician and brilliant with repairing cars. He is quick to explain any issue with the car and how it can be fixed. Many times, he has drawn me a picture of what is the problem and how best to correct it.
I truly would not go anywhere else. Rick is honest and extremely knowledgable. You're wasting your time and money going elsewhere.

I have taken my vehicles to Rick for several years now. He always takes the time to explain what needs to be done, and why it needs to be done. He is honest and reliable. He does not try to upsell on unneeded repairs. heck on an few things i said i was going to try to do myself he gave me some tips to make it easier for me to do.
