We were very pleased with the work, especially since Roy's estimate was less than the other bid that we received (let's just say, from a large, nationwide home improvement store). Roy took the time to talk to my wife about the details of getting the stain color we wanted, how long it would take to do, and how long it would be before we could stay in our house again (because of the smell). When all was done we had a rich stain color on our floor and stairs that made us very happy. Roy's time estimate was right on the money. The long gouge in the floor is history and you cannot tell that it ever existed. It must be difficult to sand finish off of stairs but these guys did a super job in no time at all. They partitioned our work area from the lower level of our house to prevent the sanding debris from getting on our furniture, which we had covered anyway. We had professional movers our heavy furniture items downstairs but Roy did offer to help move some things---very kind---I assume many people would take him up on that. This is something we should have done before we moved into our house but all in all this was a pleasant experience for something that was pretty disruptive.

They did very good work and are certainly competent.  They are busy so you have to schedule well ahead.  Nice family run business and I have used them for many years on different apartment buildings that I have owned.  Honest.   Their dad was running the business when I first used them but now Roy and his brother run the business.  They will tell you what you don't have to do if appropriate.

Did a beautiful job. Work was completed in the time frame promised. The color was perfect. Roy was very professional and explained process thoroughly. Will likely use them again for additional projects.

My husband and I absolutely loved working with Roy! When we ripped up the carpet of our home and found terrible moisture damage, we were worried that nothing could be done to fix our wooden floors. Roy and his brother did a fantastic job refinishing the floors and the former damage is barely visible. They were also reasonable with their price and did a great job of cleaning up their work. Would use them again! We are very satisfied customers!

They came on time and worked promptly and efficiently. They do the work themselves, are pleasant to deal with, and do an exceptional job.  My floors look great. My next project will be my family room and when I decide to do it, I shall call on them again.

They did an awesome job. This family has been doing floor refinishing in the Alexandria area for decades. It's now twin brothers, Roy Jr. and his brother; "Roy H Meador" was their father who retired years ago, and I believe their grandfather also did floor refinishing in Alexandria. They know floors. They may be a little more expensive than some (and cheaper than others), but you won't find anyone better. Very honest, and ended up cheaper than I expected. They also do the work themselves, instead of picking up cheap labor on the way to your house. I can't say enough good about them.

I started out liking them but after nine months the finish has come off of the floors. They talked me out of a non toxic finish which I really wanted. I felt as thought the quality of work just wasn't there. They are hard to get a hold of and won't come back out to fix the problem. I really don't remember an exact cost however I do feel that it was fair.
