Long Fence

The job was done properly and the installers were efficient. However the pricing was criminal.

Terrible customer service won’t return calls or voice messages. Have been waiting since June 25 for a driveway gate. I was told today it was installed on the 14th of August. Not installed at my house MIA I guess

Wood Paddock-style fence with black wire mesh for the dog. The contract had specific information about how the mesh was to be installed - 2" above the ground so I could power weed underneath the mesh so as to not damage it. That was not done. All three gates - two single gates and one double gate - sagged within a month or two and became very difficult to open or close.

The work was done well. It just took a very long time for Long Fence to show up and do the work. Signed contract on about 15 June. Work not done until 24 August. Also never could get anyone to call me back and tell me when I was schedule.

I had a Long fence installed around 2005 but have had to replace numerous posts because the posts were not properly installed (were not properly installed (drained) so they were rotting in ground. The last time I had posts replaced I contracted with Long Fence, however, it appeared that they picked up day laborers and dropped them off at my house with no supervision--they did not seem to know what to do, were just digging a hole--no drainage, no concrete--they had to go to buy the supplies. They didn't have anything to mix the concrete in so borrowed a bucket of mine. They left a big mess of gravel and the old concrete that I had to supervise for them to dig up. One of the posts was not level with the others.

At the four week point in June I called because the work was not done. The scheduler had a hard time finding my paperwork when I called. I remained patient and she PROMISED me they would replace the gate and do some other fence repairs I contracted for on 29 June. I was away on vacation and returned today and the fence has not been repaired and remains dangerous when it has go be open to mow the back yard. I have asked for a call to explain and a refund. No response yet. Their service is totally unprofessional. If you don't want to do the work for me, then don't take my money and make me wait half the summer and still have no gate. Horrible!

It cost a lot of money but it is a good product.

They were really good. They were great. They were priced competitively. They were helpful, responsive and professional. They're not pushy. I would use them again. I thought that they were really helpful. They did a great job. Our fence is still standing and I guess that's a good sign.

While I was very impressed by Steve the sales representative from Long Fence, I cannot say that I was impressed by the sevice and how long it took to get back to me after signing the contract and putting down my first deposit.  In April I signed and put my first third of the deposit down.  It took them until June 13, 2013 to actually get started on the project and even that was due to a cancellation in thier schedule, where I could be squeezed in.  I have to wonder how much longer I would have had toof  wait if there wasn't a cancellation? 
After finishing the work, I thought I might get a call from someone saying the work was complete what do I think?.  I didn't get that...what I got was a bill in the mail for the other two payments that were due.  It took me calling them and informing that I had an issue with the fence.  They transfered me to a representative who took my name and explained that someone would be in touch to set up an appoitment to take a look issues regarding the construction of the fence.  Well, it's been about four days and I still haven't heard from anyone.  It would be nice to talk to someone and show them that the fence is warping ALREADY and that the door was put on crooked. 

Their price was the lowest and their guys were professional, courteous and worked hard to complete the job by the end of the day. Long Fence seems to be somewhat disorganized, as I had to call a couple of times to schedule the installation, which they were supposed to call to schedule. They also called the morning that they were scheduled to begin the work to say that they were out of corner posts. I'm not sure how a fence company runs out of corner posts, but once they came the job was done quickly. All of our neighbors have complimented us on the fence and we are very pleased with it. Aside from the beginning confusion, they were great to work with and I would certainly hire them again for other work.

The salesman was prompt and professional. The job was completed in three days. Looked nice. Within 2-3 months the lattice started warping. Long has a one-year warranty to fix problems. After the warranty, they charge very high rates to discourage service calls. Two weeks ago, one four foot section of lattice fell apart. Long gave me an estimate of $500 to repair it. I called someone else, who rebuilt that section, and an eight-footer, replaced several warped boards, and tighten up the fence in several places. Cost $150. He showed me the inferior staples and nails Long uses. He said I will continue to have problems with this fence.

We had a big tree that we wanted to keep that they had to maneuver around. It only took them two days total to do the whole fence. They measurements were really precise. They were on time and very friendly. They fence looks really nice. Everything went exactly like they said it would.

The fence is a few inches too short and will not lock.

We were looking to expand the backyard fence of our townhouse, which means adhering carefully to all of the rules and regulations of the HOA!  I called a number of companies and Long Fence was the only company that promptly called me back, came out for a free estimate, and followed up with a detailed plan and price.  There was a problem finding the actual property lines (I couldn't get the plat from the County) and they really went the extra mile to find it, bring in a surveyor and make sure everything was set.  We had a little phone tag in setting up the actual appointment but once it was settled they did the work in one day and it looked fantastic.

Update: We worked with Long Fence to install a patio in the backyard. The work was done quickly, it looked great and was reasonably priced.  Two years later, one side of the patio was sinking. I called to see what could be done. Although we were out of warranty, they had me send pictures and within two days called and said that when there was room in the schedule someone would be out to fix it. The work was done two weeks later, it took a full morning but it looks great. The guys who were fixing it showed me how they had graded it to better drain off and away from the house. I really appreciated the customer service!

I liked the job that they did originally. The workers were very good and efficient and worked quickly. However, the fence did not stand the test of time, and they did not stand behind their product. They told me only later that I should have painted it. I had asked them at that time if it should have been painted, and they had said that that was not necessary because the wood was a very seasoned one. The wood is all warping and so on. They said there was nothing that they could do about it. Their price was okay; they were flexible with it. They answered my calls but did not help, and their punctuality was good. I was not happy with their work, so I would not recommend them to others. I would not use them again in the future.

Their price was reasonable. I liked the fact that it only took them a day and a half to the work. The team did the work very quickly and efficiently.

They were quick, efficient, and courteous. They came right out. They did good work. Their prices are comparable to what would be expected.

The instalation went fine and looks good, it was on schedule. However when the installed the gate, they put the latch behind a post - you cannot reach it to open the gate. We attempted to withhold final payment and they threatened us with collection, and promised they would come out an fix it. They have not to date, and they stopped returning our phone calls.

We were happy with our fence, install was great, price was competitive. Then we had a seam give in one of our gates. Long Fence came out and assessed that it was covered under our warranty and they said they would call in a few weeks once they got in the replacement. Well that was they end of us liking Long Fence. The customer support has been horrible. I called up after 6-7 weeks enquiring about the replacement, was told that they sent it to the wrong location, it should be in soon. My husband called 2 weeks later, was told a manager would call him back, he never heard from him. One week after that, I called, talked to the manager, he seemed surprised that we have not been called to schedule the repair, since he thought he saw it there. He was supposed to go find it and get back to me. NEVER did. So, nice fence, but the customer support it terrible.
