The job was done properly and the installers were efficient. However the pricing was criminal.

Terrible customer service won’t return calls or voice messages. Have been waiting since June 25 for a driveway gate. I was told today it was installed on the 14th of August. Not installed at my house MIA I guess

Wood Paddock-style fence with black wire mesh for the dog. The contract had specific information about how the mesh was to be installed - 2" above the ground so I could power weed underneath the mesh so as to not damage it. That was not done. All three gates - two single gates and one double gate - sagged within a month or two and became very difficult to open or close.

The work was done well. It just took a very long time for Long Fence to show up and do the work. Signed contract on about 15 June. Work not done until 24 August. Also never could get anyone to call me back and tell me when I was schedule.

I had a Long fence installed around 2005 but have had to replace numerous posts because the posts were not properly installed (were not properly installed (drained) so they were rotting in ground. The last time I had posts replaced I contracted with Long Fence, however, it appeared that they picked up day laborers and dropped them off at my house with no supervision--they did not seem to know what to do, were just digging a hole--no drainage, no concrete--they had to go to buy the supplies. They didn't have anything to mix the concrete in so borrowed a bucket of mine. They left a big mess of gravel and the old concrete that I had to supervise for them to dig up. One of the posts was not level with the others.

At the four week point in June I called because the work was not done. The scheduler had a hard time finding my paperwork when I called. I remained patient and she PROMISED me they would replace the gate and do some other fence repairs I contracted for on 29 June. I was away on vacation and returned today and the fence has not been repaired and remains dangerous when it has go be open to mow the back yard. I have asked for a call to explain and a refund. No response yet. Their service is totally unprofessional. If you don't want to do the work for me, then don't take my money and make me wait half the summer and still have no gate. Horrible!

It took them 3 months and it was supposed to take 2 weeks. The goober from the county wanted it to be attached to the house where Long Fence said it's free standing.  I finally had to tell them that they had been going around and around with this and I want it to be done. The deck is fabulous, you could land a helicopter on this thing. Just the shenanigans and crap I had to go through to get it done wasn't worth it. They do good work, but it's at their convenience, not yours.

Long Fence erected a pine split-rail fence with wire mesh and three bolt-lock gates on the perimeter of a partly-forested section of my yard in October 2008, at a cost of nearly $6,000. The work was efficient and professional; installation of the 49 posts (including cement-seated corner and end posts), three-layered rails, and gates was completed in a single day. About four-and-a-half years later, I noticed one of the gate posts had rotted through at ground level and was falling over. I replaced the post at my own expense, regarding it as an aberration, a case of a single, improperly treated post. Over the next two years, however, many more posts had rotted in the ground, to the extent that whole sections of the fence were collapsing. I had to install diagonal props on about 35 of the posts to keep the fence upright. After repeatedly having to fix the fence and replace props knocked over by my squirrel-chasing ridgebacks through the frigid winter of 2014/15, I'd had enough and phoned Cindy Zick of Long Fence in Chantilly. Surely fence posts aren't supposed to rot through in 4-6 years, I told her, the whole batch must have been badly pressure-treated. Would Long Fence consider replacing all of the posts? The rest of it could be reinstalled; there was nothing wrong with the gates or rails (other than three that were damaged by falling trees), and the mesh was still serviceable. A company rep came to inspect the fence and after a few days Cindy Zick phoned to say Long Fence had agreed to reinstall all of the posts at no charge. I said I would pay for three new rails to replace those damaged. On April 13-15, a Long Fence sub-contractor, Rene Garcia, performed the reinstallation with diligence, care, and a lot of hard labor, removing all of the old lumber and rotten posts single-handedly. He clearly knew his business.
I am posting this review in order to give credit where credit is due. I don't blame Long Fence for the failure of the posts; the company doesn't do the pressure treatment;, it merely buys the pre-treated lumber from a treatment plant. So any contractor could have purchased the bum posts. What impresses me, however, is that Long Fence stood surety for the work it performed six-and-a-half years earlier. I hope and trust that I shan't need to replace this (semi-)new fence soon, but if I do need fencing done again one day, I know who'll be the first contractor I call.

We asked for a fence and they put up a fence. Nothing stands out. The fence has been sturdy since they put it up.

Installer was on time and finished in the time estimated. The workers leaned up there work space before leaving and ensured that any disturbed landscaping was returned to its original state. I have ised Long Fence before and will continue to use them.

Paul responded to my request for quote very quickly. He showed up when he said, waited until I got home shortly after, and did a good job with understanding what I wanted/needed.  He was told 3-4 weeks until the crews could begin work. So, when the final plans came in, my request for cypress or cedar decking was ignored.  It was a good thing to since their costs for standard materiels is well above lumber yards cost for equivelent.
Well, 3 months later (while I was out of town for work) a scheduler calls me and says they were going to start work on the deck the following morning. Surprise! I should have followed up with them, hounded them, and really kept on top of them.  The workers did a decent job on the deck. Unsure if they cemented the footers or not. Guess I will know this spring when the ground thaws.  Since it was installed so late in the season, I've run out of time to put on sealant unless we have an abnormally warm & dry winter day.
Now about the fence. They had concerns about the lines painted for the utilities. Then they had concerns that the utilities were too close. The scheduler was going to call me back a few weeks ago after a supervisor inspected my property again. Now that it snowed, she called and asked if she could begin.  I told her since it's been 4 months since I thought the fence was going to be in, there would be no way I could apply sealant, to put a hold on the fence job.  I may cancel, because when you roll in the problems with financing the project, this has been a fiasco.
Financing.  Great, 18 month interest free financing! Yeah, if Long could get things straight.  Their finance paperwork first only included part of the job (only the deck, not the fence). Then, I resent new documents.  Apparently they forgot I sent them a new charge slip.  After two weeks, they called to collect the financed portion (close to $2k) yet again.  We'll see if they "close out December" before the end of this month or if they call back again.
Recommend that you keep track of every conversation you have with these people including name, date & time, direction given, agreements made, and any other information you think important. For my fence and deck, I have dealt with at least 7 people from the company so far.  There is sales, scheduler, finance specialists, crew lead (deck), team lead (deck), corporate finance manager, office finance manager.  None of them seem to talk to each other or keep a real-time customer care system.  Keep your ducks in a row and keep on top of these people!

I was very dissatisfied with it. They started out in fencing, and now they dabble in everything else. They've been in business for over fifty years. They do a lot of temporary fences around construction sites. Chain link was their big thing when they started, and now they use wood. I had a lot of problems. I had non-galvanized  nails put in where it should have been galvanized.  I had to have them redo a whole section.  I called them back four times. I was just glad to get rid of them. It was a little pricey, but that wasn't my main concern. I don't usually pick the job by cost, but I thought they would do a good job. I told them that I'd had other estimates that were lower. I made a complaint, and talked to the owner, but he just acted like he didn't care. Most people wouldn't be as picky as I am about it, and wouldn't go out and check to see that they're using the actual galvanized nails that they said they would in the proposal. I do, because I know what happens. The regular nails rust and bleed down the fence, and galvanized nails don't. That was one irritation. The other was that they had to redo the fence in several areas. This was not a fun experience. They came back out when I called, but it took them four tries to get it done. I would not use them again.

Matt McQuary was our sales associate and did a great job of showing us design choices for our fence.  Also, Matt provided us with a quote while he was here measuring - same day.  While their price was a bit higher than others, the quality is great.  Once we decided to move forward, we scheduled quickly and the job was done as scheduled - one day.  I would definitely recommend this team.

They were really good. They were great. They were priced competitively. They were helpful, responsive and professional. They're not pushy. I would use them again. I thought that they were really helpful. They did a great job. Our fence is still standing and I guess that's a good sign.

I will make this short, do not go with.  Prior to getting the my fence, I was impressed.  Steve came out and did an estimate at least two days after I submitted my request.  I wasn't quite sure about it since it was so costly but in the long run I decided that I needed to get it done and I didn't want to wait around getting more estimates.  Long story short, I signed the contract and put my first deposit down.  I was told that it would take at least three weeks...it took more like a month and a half.  When they finally did come, I received a call the day of informing me that a job cancelled and the contractors could do my fence.  Naturally, I agreed because I had waited so long for something to happen.
Fast forward to the installers getting to my house.  They asked to use my electricity.  I know this seems small but for me, I was headed to a baseball game with three kids.  I didn't have the time to sit around and wait for them.  So they agreed to come back the next day to finish the job, again I couldn't be home but I agreed.  I thought someone would call me the next week to ask me how I liked the job.  That did not happen.  A week later I get a bill in the mail for the last two installment payments.  No one bothered to ask me or come by the house to inspect the fence.
I had to call them to make the payment and ask for someone to come by and inspect the fence because I had issues with it.  They installed the door without lining it up, and one of the boards is already warping.  Fast forward again and I finally get a call.  I'm at work and the Long Fence representative  just expects for me to be home so he can have a look.  Long story short, I end up emailing the pictures to him.  He tells me that is the way the fence is suppose to be.  I have to explain to him that the old fence did not have a crooked door.  He told me that he will have Steve the original rep come back to take a look.
It has been about two months now, and the issues that I have with the fence have still not been resolved.  I am extremely disappointed as I believed that such a large company would have a better customer service.  It is just common courtesy that after a job has been finished a rep should inspect the work and fix the problems.  Long Fence did not such thing.  They just take your money and forget about you...or continue to have telemarkers call and harass you for additional services.  To say the least, I do not recommend them at all and I will never use them again.

While I was very impressed by Steve the sales representative from Long Fence, I cannot say that I was impressed by the sevice and how long it took to get back to me after signing the contract and putting down my first deposit.  In April I signed and put my first third of the deposit down.  It took them until June 13, 2013 to actually get started on the project and even that was due to a cancellation in thier schedule, where I could be squeezed in.  I have to wonder how much longer I would have had toof  wait if there wasn't a cancellation?
After finishing the work, I thought I might get a call from someone saying the work was complete what do I think?.  I didn't get that...what I got was a bill in the mail for the other two payments that were due.  It took me calling them and informing that I had an issue with the fence.  They transfered me to a representative who took my name and explained that someone would be in touch to set up an appoitment to take a look issues regarding the construction of the fence.  Well, it's been about four days and I still haven't heard from anyone.  It would be nice to talk to someone and show them that the fence is warping ALREADY and that the door was put on crooked.
