Skip is a nice guy and fun to chat with. In late 2010 we had two maples and a redbud put in and a dogwood relocated. In 2012 / 2013 one of the maples died. Skip has told us for 12 months that he'll and quot;be right outand quot; to take a look at it. He hasn't been out yet. The dogwood that was relocated now seems diseased. I don't know if this has anything to do with Greenworks but it hasn't done well since they relocated it. Two years ago I would have given Greenworks an A rating. Today, I would recommend people go elsewhere.

I guess I'll have to pay somebody to dig out the maple they planted.

Gary Hillwalker with GreenWorks met with us and designed drainage and landscaping solutions that stood head and shoulders above other solutions we solicited, and at pricing we considered fair and reasonable. Our drainage problem was corrected with an aesthetically pleasing, flagstone-covered sump. Both the sump and the extensive planting were completed within one day; the replacement of the walkway and the porch was much more demanding, and took about one week. The landscape lighting was an afterthought on our part, and was installed in less than a day.
Throughout the planning, installation, and inevitable post-installation tweaking of our landscaping and stone work, Gary worked with us very closely to choose appropriate plantings and adjust whatever needed adjusting. Gary and the crews he supervised were unfailingly courteous, competent and fully professional. The result of their work is, in a word, spectacular. We recommend GreenWorks without reservation, and others who use GreenWorks will find working with Gary Hillwalker a delightful experience.

Skip Edgemond, the owner of GREENWORKS, came highly recommended. He visited us to help us design a patio for our townhome backyard which was on a very, very steep slope and at the time almost unusable. He had wonderful ideas and was delightful to work with. We used Rinox pavers and were able to choose a very appropriate design for the site. Todd and the crew arrived on time each day. All equipment, dirt, gravel and pavers had to be brought to or taken out of the back of our home by wheelbarrow! We were so impressed with the crew's consistent hard work from the preparation of the site to the installation of the pavers. Todd was an great foreman and he kept us well informed. The work was completed on time. We are extremely happy with our beautiful new patio....the results are truly amazing and have transformed the space! We are now beginning to landscape around the patio and after consulting with Skip at the nursery, he and his crew planted three beautiful trees. We look forward to having GREENWORKS help us add to our patio garden in the future.

Skip Edgemond and his crews have done all my landscape work for almost 20 years -- since I put a pool in my back yard in 1994. At the time, my whole yard needed landscape work, and Skip came up with the best design and price. He also developed a plan that could be carried out over several years, since I couldn't afford to do eveythng immediately. In addition, he came highly recommended by both residential and commercial customers for the quality of his work and commitment to ensuring satisfied customers, so I gave him the contract. I've lived in this area for over 30 years. I've used dozens of different contractors for various things in that time. Greenworks ranks in the top 1%.
I've found many contractor engagements result in a mess -- missed appointments, shoddy work, unfulfilled contract commitments, unethical behavior. I've never had a problem with any of Skip's work -- not a single one. He keeps his customers' interests foremost, his crews know what they are doing, and Skip holds himself accountable for everything. Some of the work in my yard was challenging and required repeated efforts to get it right. For example, some tricky regrading was needed to create proper swales for water runoff in the vicinity of the pool. Skip insisted on getting it just right -- and this included him visiting the house during rain storms to examine the runoff and check his work. He ended up regrading the swale twice, replacing the sod, and did it at his own cost.
Skip has just finished up his usual spring work this year. Once again, nicely done. The price above refers to the recently completed work.
I have no reservations in recommending Greenworks as a top-notch landscaping outfit. Skip is one of a pretty small group of the truly good guys out there.

The team arrive each day and worked diligently on the project. They were courteous, neat, clean and did an excellent job. We had so many challenges with the project I would not have trusted it to any other company. They worked with us to discuss the project daily as it went along and made changes to the original plan as we requested. The project grew and we were able to make some modifications to accommodate our vision. Skip put a lot of time and thought into the project and it is just beautiful. Greenworks exceeded our expectations and gave us a special place to enjoy for many years to come!

They did an especially good job matching the stonework on both the patio and the retaining wall; and matched the color and pattern of the old patio (broken slate) very well. They were professional in every way and worked diligently to get the job done as quickly as possible. They even built a tent so they could work during the rain and were very careful to preserve the lawn by building a track in the woods around it to haul materials back and forth.
This past summer, Green Works replaced the trees behind the pool and added numerous plants and bushes in a corner of the yard. As usual, the work was excellent and completed on time. They are particularly good at designing the landscape, including advising which plants will grow well in shaded areas and are most deer-resistant. We've always been impressed with Skip's design abilities and our recent work has confirmed our choice of Green Works once again.
We heartily recommend Green Works to anyone who needs landscaping, stone work, and outdoor lighting.
