I was having problems with my car's transmission so I made an appointment for service. I was asked what time I'd be dropping the car off and I told them I'd drop it the night before if they could fit me in first thing in the morning. They agreed, so I did. I told them I wanted the oil changed, scheduled maintenance, my transmission reviewed, and a new key for the car (I wanted an extra).
The next day I had heard nothing by 1:00PM so I called and a woman told me my service advisor was at lunch but she'd make sure he'd call me "soon." By 2:00PM I'd heard nothing, so I called back. The same woman apologized and promised me I'd get a call with an update right away. By 2:30 I got a call and was told that my car had "just gone in" even though I had scheduled so it could get looked at first thing in the morning (so why did I bother taking it early and renting a car and paying for it?)
An hour later I was called back and told my transmission had some error codes they did not understand, and there was no way it would be done that day. I was promised to be called the next day with an update.
The next day was a Friday, and I didn't hear a thing.
I finally heard back and gave permission for all the work to be done.
Yesterday (almost a week later) I finally picked up the car. I called ahead to pay since I needed to get in and out and I was in a rush. The place had a single cashier and she was swamped. So even though I'd already paid by credit card, I had to waste 10 minutes in line just waiting to pick up my key and sign a piece of paper.
Finally, my new key was missing, well, the key part. It was just the fob. Neither the cashier nor another service manager were able to explain why.
My service manager called me to tell me that the key is not included in the key FOB, it's a separate purchase. So when I asked for a new key and to have it programmed, nobody informed me and nobody suggested that a key is not part of, well, a key. So he suggested (I can't tell if he was joking) that I take the car back and they could cut a key for me.
Really? After I wasted almost a week for them to get their act together (after they failed to keep my appointment, after they could not figure out what codes on my transmission meant for more than 24 hours, after I'd paid for several days of car rental, they want to make things right by having me take the car back in? Other dealers for other cars have been able to cut keys from master codes, but that, apparently, is beyond these guys.
What they did, they did well and their price is fair. But that's not enough for me. I need a service facility that will respect my time and act professionally. Heck, I'm even willing to pay a premium for that but, sadly, that's not to be had at this dealer's facility.
NEVER, NEVER, NEVER again.
Our sales person had another appointment arrive during our visit and was attempting (poorly) to juggle 2 sales
concurrently. While folks were nice, the entire process was very disorganized -- no one knew what they had on the lot -- they couldn't find keys to the vehicles -- no sense of urgency etc.
Again, I arrived ready to purchase. 2.5 hours is more than enough to be most of the way through the process. I guess these folks expect you to spent your entire Sunday sitting and waiting for them to have the time to assist you. They lost out on a sale. We are now working with Leesburg Jeep to see if they are any better.
